TMNT

Saw it last night and I really enjoyed it. I went in expecting nothing so that may have helped. This was like a great mix of the old cartoon & movies and I can't wait to see what they do with a sequel. I agree that Splinter & Winters voices, while well done, just didn't really fit right. Of course if they do a sequel then we'll automatically get a new voice for Splinter (r.i.p. Mako). But I thought Raph's voice was great.

Showing that Splinter had kept Shredder's Mask, the ooze container and that shitty time scepter in a little shrine at the end was awesome

So this movie is a continuation of the live action's? Or was that a nod, Xeno?

It's just a nod, but an awesome one at that.

Just got back, no kids in the theatre, all a bunch of 20something people. Great, great movie, the rooftop scene looks slick as hell, and the story was pretty good too.

They're coming back with somebody from their past Z O M G

From the interview I read a little while back (in last month's Wizard, I think) I thought this was supposed to be a continuation of the original movies. Which is why they didn't go with Shredder as the main villain. The creators thought his story had been done to death and they wanted to give the Turtles something new to deal with.

The creators should realize that the whole Ralph vs Leo thing is done to death too. I thought it was pretty half-assed and they didn't even eat that much pizza. I mean, wtf? I was hoping for some kind of "OH SHIT, TOWER ONE JUST GOT HIT BY A 747!!" followed by "Chill out dudes, I got another slice of pepperoni left!"

This Shredder references pissed me off because I know this movie was aching for his presence.

i havent watched turtles in a long time, and dont recall maybe the voices were the same setup before...

the voice acting for raph was done really well and suits the tough guy image ,but having 3 turtles with california/midwest type accents and one with a deep bronx just seemed a little odd, especially if they grew up together

Yup, it's a continuation of the original live-action movie.

Saw it tonight, and it was a lot of fun. The one clip of Leo standing in the rain during the Leo/Raph fight was absolutely amazing, CG quality wise. We liked Splinter's voice because he totally sounded like a drunk, so we kept making jokes about it.
