Building a MAME arcade cabinet...

Along the lines of controls, I'm seriously thinking that I need to change Mame's default controls (and the iPac's mapping, accordingly). Mame uses, for example, the Alt key, which causes many Windows emulators to highlight the File menu. And Start is "1", which happens to be "BG Layer 1" in a bunch of SNES and Genesis emulators.

I'll probably just go with almost straight letters for all the buttons (ASDZXC + arrows for P1, JKLM,. + numpad for P2)...

Then again, I guess I could set Mamewah to reprogram the iPac with each launch (that's what the thing's made for, isn't it?), but, eh, I don't know.

Bow down to quality joystick creative handiwork!

Got my ipac up and rolling as well as a few romz. I had no idea idea that Street Fighter Alpha 2,3, and Marvel vs. Capcom were emulated.

Tried them out with the ole homemade joystick and they emulation felt awesome, I think the only problem came from me being out of practice and that joystick being slightly less that optimum. Using old buttons I've had laying around from my first cabinet didn't help either...
