MOTOR Kombat?!

On the main page of MK Online right now, there is a report about the new issue of OXM, and it drops the Mother Fin bombshell:

The secret minigame mode that had been secret until now has been revealed as Motor Kombat, an up to eight player cart racing game. The playable racers are Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Bo'Rai Cho, Jax, Raiden, Kitana, Mileena, and Baraka. (UPDATE - Cyrax and Johnny Cage are also available. Thanks for the correction, Casselman!) The characters are capable of using their own special moves during the match (Sub-Zero freezes cars, and Bo'Rai Cho can cause cars behind to slip on his puke, for example), and can even knock cars into course deathtraps. The minigame is playable alone, via online with eight people, and with up to four people with split-screen.

Eight player ONLINE MKart madness?! Deathtraps?! Split screen!!

Heh, I'm one of those who doesn't have an Xbox and just plans on getting an Xbox 360. I'd much rather play online via XBL than on the PS2, so if we can get Microsoft to make Deception and Armageddon backwards-compatible, I'll be a very happy camper.

I thought this going in, but my Xbox hasn't been turned on more than twice since I bought the 360 in February. I have a feeling that five years from now, we'll look back and realize the Xbox had Ninja Gaiden, Halo, and nothing else and Halo is questionable, since the FPS genre evolves so quickly.

I think that's implied in the article where it says "The characters are capable of using their own special moves during the match."
