Maybe they should drop 1 of their 15 Home Shopping Network channels? Oh, no! They can't do that; HSN probably pays for the airtime.

I don't know their business model, but I know that once the deals are signed, the NFL and the cable companies will win, and I will lose by paying for yet another tier of service.
Seriously. You should really check into a dish service. The price is so much better, you get more channels for your money and the quality of the picture is consistant. Cable companies have so much overhead that you pay for, like the cables they have to run just to get the service to your neighborhood.
That's true, but he lives in hurricane country, and dish service sucks in rain, never mind hurricane force winds. And I'm not saying I'm right about the nfl network on cable, it's just what I heard, so Yoshi could very well be right.
Yeah, I don't like the idea of my television viewing being dependent on the weather. It's not like I live in Seattle or anywhere shitty like that, but I still don't want to risk it. That may change when I get fiber optic internet though, because then I'm dropping cable for that like a bad habit, and I'll lose my package deals.
Comcast does have the NFL Network but you have to pay extra for it, lame.
This is an interesting read about why I can't get the NFL Network.
Part of that depends on the strength of signal too.
I live 15 miles outside of Dallas in a town of 18,000. My signal strength hangs around 98 (out of 100) and even during the worst thunder storms, I've lost a signal maybe a minute or 2 here and there. When my cable went out, it was usually for extended periods of time.
