He had Antoine Smith IIRC, which shows how good of a line he also had. Brady is a lot closer to Dilfer than he is to Elway, Aikman, Montana, etc. Brady lovers need to pay close attention this year. His numbers last night are hugely misleading. He played like shit but threw so many times that his yardage wound up good. Look at yards/attempt. It's fucking terrible and probably will be all season. He also had Reche Caldwell and Troy Brown play DB to keep him from throwing two terrible picks.

No, up until last year the defense was very, very good. Injuries slowed them down alot last year and this year Belichick let all the press get to his head and it now appears he actually believes he can win with anybody.Quote:

I dunno, it's still up in the air between them and the NFC West. The Cards don't appear to be much better than they were last year (called it!) and St. Louis lost to the Niners. On the plus side Seattle may be the best team in the NFC while the Pats will most likely lose in the first round of the playoffs.Quote:

Aside from the QB rating which is close, their career numbers are almost exactly the same. Montana also played with a better running back than Brady ever has, and arguably a better defence.
I don't get how you can look at the plays Brady has made, how clutch he has been, the fact that he was 1st in passing yards and 3rd in touchdowns in the NFL last year, and most importantly his two Super Bowl MVP awards (one more than Aikman has, I might add) and say he doesn't have a big effect on his team winning. Tom Brady is unquestionably a great quarterback.
Wow Yoshi, that's just wrong. Brady has won superbowls with no #1 receivers, no quality RB's, and a halfway decent line. He's the real deal.Quote:
