That's not saying much.

After hearing you say this I was expecting a game that is total ass, and after playing the demo I was surprised that it is actually a solid and fun game. Don't listen to the haters, this game with 4 people will == good fucking fun. Now time to download the full version!
Don't even bullshit yourself. There is nothing "solid" about this game except how shitty it is. The only fun I had was in trashing it.
I heard a rumor that some people have different opinions, any truth to that Revoltor?
Being a hater is much more fun though :\
You should talk to Joust about that.
I was playing this with some friends yesterday and it's totally fun.
Small Arms is fucking garbage, uninspired garbage at that.
Bitch shut your mouth.
Small Arms is awesome for the price. It's frantic chaos which perfectly sets up choice trash talking.
Small Arms was all right. I liked two of the levels which were stationary, but not as much fun on the train with the threesome trying to leave me behind.
I wish they'd post RoboBlitz, already. And possibly announce what will be on the next volume of "Unplugged" so I can pick up the other games.
So apparently I have 100 Gamer Points from LttP. Sadly, g0zen has none.

Anyone have any idea why that showed up how it did?
Good thing I didn't buy it.
I don't buy trash, unless you count Dig Dug.
Some kind of crazy web browser cache bug is my best guess.
I gave Small Arms a quick try last night and liked what I saw.
I DLed the trial and was unimpressed. It tries to be SSB too hard and just wasn't fun for me. Granted, if you have a group with whom to play, it might be better, but it's just not my taste. I'll grab UMK3 instead.
That's one hell of a crazy cache bug. I'm guessing that someone at Xbox.com has a sense of humor, uses the :link: icon as an icon for something in the javascript code, and something went wrong on their side to make it appear. Who knows though.
...
So, Xbox Live Arcade... Any word on what the next game of the week is?
I hope it's Ms Pacman.
I'm hoping someone at Microsoft gets it through their head that this is a stupid way to do business and starts posting a schedule for a month in advance.
James
There is no prize like a surprise!
so when are we getting track n field and symphony of the night?
Isnt Super C suppose to come out sometime too? I'm so playing through Symphony of the Night in HD. Cant get that on the PS3's emulator. SoTN is still my favorite PSone game.
I really liked Super C on the NES. I'd buy it for sure. I'd also pay $20 for SotN, but dont tell Microsoft that.
I swear some people at Microsoft are having a contest to see who can come up with the lamest XBLA releases. What's this weeks release?
A goddamn update to Texas Hold'em!
Ugh. (The game does need a fixing, though.)Quote:
According to a fantabulous press release, your gambling hopes and prayers have been answered:
This week on Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays, we offer a full-featured update to one of the most popular titles on the service – Texas Hold ‘em.
They're adding Vision Camera support :tu:
Bleh. I'll just nab UMK3 instead.
You noobs should have been around when Texas Hold 'Em was free to download.
Better yet, when was Symphony of the Night confirmed? I remember it being phrased as something Konami could do, not something they were actually doing, and then it just snowballed from there.
James
Yeah, I still don't think that is coming.
SOTN should come, dammit, but even if it does it won't until MS releases the larger memory cards.
Regardless, I don't give a shit about Texas Hold 'Em. Something better please.
DOUBLE DRAGON W/ CO-OP COMING TO XBLA
http://www.oxm.co.uk/articles/news/h...ox_live_arcade
I would buy that day 1.
I hope they speed up Double Dragon a bit. It was excellent back in the day, but it's pretty slow now. But either way, day one for me.
Now Xbox Live Arcade just needs The Simpsons, X-Men, and Turtles in Time (hell, I'd settle for the original Turtles Arcade), and it would own everything.
That list only shows how lame Konami was. Palette-swap beat-em-ups can go eat a dick. Same goes for Capcom's bullshit run too.
Remember that MadCatz Live Arcade Joystick? Well it turns out that it has a spinner built in. They best be building in compatibility with Tempest, Warlords, Space Giraffe, etc.
Check it out, around the analog stick:

I need something with a viable dpad for my live arcade games =*(
Fuck fighters, I can't play a fighter on a dpad, I need it for Lumines. The 360 dpad is miserable.
Ubisoft has the rights to at least the new TMNT movie. It might cover more than that.
:O The TMNT games have been removed from Konami's site! :(
I never understood people's problem with Lumines on a X360 pad. The pad sucks, but the major issue is with diagionals, not being able to get left/right when you need it. Lumines does not even have any movement on the Y axis, so that is a non-issue. Maybe your pad sucks more.
Two options there: For Lumines, there is a controller configuration which dumps the d-pad entirely (binding left and right to the bumpers; it's really freakin weird). You can also find one of the Hori controllers (pad or stick); the pad is really damn good for a third party pad but has the exact opposite problem the X360 controller has -- the d-pad and buttons are fine, but the sticks and triggers are terrible.
I did accidently play DoA4 with the stock X360 pad last night though, that was a lolocaust. The thought of even playing a real fighter on that thing makes me dry heave.
Wheres the new Arcade game today???
No game...
...but there is a TEXAS HOLD 'EM PATCH!

If you feel like a bit of work and voiding the waranty that is probably already over.
Ah, another Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday eve. I'm surpirsed there are no rumblings on here as to what tomorrow's game of the day is.
As a side note (and sorry if this is going into "off topic" waters), but anyone else disappointed by Virtual Console in comparison to Xbox Live Arcade? It's pretty sad when Dig Dug with a score board is giving Mario 64 a run for my play time because it's just so much fun to play.
Back on topic, just checked out Wikipedia and see that it's reporting Roboblitz as the game for tomorrow. Awesome!
VC sucks.
This week's game is Roboblitz, BTW.
Pretty broad statement, but I'm starting to think the same. If they optimized the games some it would be a different story, but when Mario 64 controls like shit with the Classic Controller and is borderline passable with the GCN pad (Did it always feel impossible to turn around in Mario 64 without running in a circle? I never remember that being a problem when playing on the N64... and I just played it there a year and a half ago or so!) it makes you look at games on Xbox Live Arcade and be thankful that Microsoft just isn't shoving ROMs onto Market Place and however it works, it works.
Cool. Thank you.Quote:

I think it's more a combination of the shitty pad plus the placement of it. My thumb needs to be centered on a dpad to work correctly, coming at it from an angle like on the GC or 360 kinda fucks me up. Once in a while, I want to press down to rush a piece but it moves down AND to the left, completely fucking me over. It just happens a lot.
I DID get better at using it, but it still happens once in a while, which is way too much. The dpad sucks ass.
On the plus side, I'm the #1 Robo Blitz player in the whole world right now. On the down side, that means I paid $15 for it. It's almost good, but the floaty, imprecise controls kill it.
James
$15 + "imprecise" controls = fuck that. Maybe I'll try the demo, first.
I was excited about Roboblitz, but at 15 bucks it better have a fucking incredible demo.
I think I'll wait until Roboblitz goes to an Unplugged volume. The funky controls are just not worth the price they want.
The controls do feel a bit weird.
Save your money and get Castlevania and/or MG:PO instead.
Downloaded the demo of Roboblitz, deleted it, and promptly downloaded Scramble and Geometry Wars.
Hey, do does Unplugged games automatically download to the HD or do you only play them off the disc?
I was thinking about picking it up but didn't want to load up the disc every time I wanted a Geometry Wars fix.
Disc. Basically, you put the disc in and when you go to the Live Arcade menu, they show up on the list. So, you should buy the games if you have Live.
Ah shit. Well, it makes sense I guess since people could just acquire the game, DL it to their harddrives and then pass it on. I found a really good deal on it is all but I'll just pass on it and any other future volumes.
Is there a way to take something off your gamertag? I want to erase all traces of Hexic from my life. It also doesn't help that the shitty Mutant Storm demo makes it seem like I have Mutant Storm and 0 points in it.
I want those blemishes gone from my record =*(
Stop being gay.
Robo Blitz isn't half as bad as some of you make it out to be. The controls aren't that funky, and the levels are actually pretty cool. There are some decent puzzles and the whole weapon upgrade system works really well. Considering that it's an original game, it's not a bad purchase.
LOL though at people complaining about only 20 year-old games being released and then bitching about this. Give it a chance; it's fun.
1200 points = Pass for Nash.
I don't think it's horrible, just that the controls suck and the camera isn't helping any. There's some good stuff in there, and I refuse to use any gun but the rocket launcher that sends enemies flying into the air where they burst into fireworks because I love it so much, but the way that robot handles is just plain wrong.
Now to figure out how to beat that damn laser boss. His first two patterns are easy, but round 3 just isn't happening.
James
Roboblitz is pretty good. Not my kind of game though.
When I first downloaded Roboblitz I really didn't like it, but to be honest I gave it all of five minutes.
After sitting down with it and going through the whole trial version, getting the weapons and doing some puzzles, I'm almost sad it's 15 dollars, because any cheaper and I'd pick it up without a second thought.
Mutant Storm is awesome. Hang your head in shame.
My only problem with Roboblitz is that the game gave me serious motion sickness and the level I stumbled into had me a bit bored.
Yeah, although I'm not too crazy about Roboblitz, seeing things like, "New content?! Where's Ms. Pac-Man!?" is absolutely insane.
Mutant Storm is awesome.
Better than Gamestop's used price? I already have it, just curious. Eventually I'm going to loan my copy out to my brother so he can play the games he hasn't bought yet but if it's cheap enough he may go for it on his own.
I find it nice for not having all of them on the HDD, but I also burn off all the live demos onto one DVD so I can play them where ever. Helpful for friends who can't connect to Live because their college campus blocks it.
I played it once, hated it, deleted it off my hard drive (and can never get it again, which is no sweat off my sack) but I got like 5 achievements the one time I played. I'd rather it just not be on the list at all. I don't own it, I'll never be able to get all the achievements, I just don't want it there.
Hexic is fun :(
I agree! Crank the custom soundtrack.
I spent most of today playing Robo Blitz and can honestly say that this is one rockin' little game. All I have left to do is fire the cannon at the end, so I'm going back to each level first to find all the Upgradium so I can get the achievement.
Seriously, for $15, this is a great game. The controls are a little weird at first, but your robot is really quite weak and is supposed to be vulnerable. Once you get the double jump, flip spin, and tractor beam upgrades, the game becomes quite easy to control. The only real issue I had with the gameplay was the (surprise!) camera. It's cool how it zooms in to an almost 1st person view when you're stuck in a confined space, but it can flip around a bit too much sometimes. It never comes close to making the game unplayable or even frustrating though.
Based on the 15+ hours I've put into it, I can honestly say that this was a great purchase. Give it a chance and you'll see that it's a wonderful addition to the XBLA library and well worth the cost.
Assault Heroes is coming.
