Lumines is one game that's determined to not let me play it, first by being released on a handheld for which I have no interest and now by being insanely priced.
If you don't have the PSP version it makes a lot more sense to get it.
I have the PSP version. It's the only thing I play on the damn thing besides Twinkle Star Sprites. I have no business buying Lumines at this price when I get a 360.
It seems like MS is really eating up all of the complaints, though. Who knows? Maybe we'll see a reprice.

After playing the demo I'm not sure why anyone shows the game with so much praise to begin with.
Lumines is nice, but it's no Meteos.
Now if MS could somehow strongarm Nintendo into putting Tetris Attack on Live, then we'd have something.

Like Dan Forden (pictured) before it, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 showed up on Xbox Live and promptly disappeared. Since XBLA games are historically released on Wednesdays, we're betting an (now possibly unemployed) Xbox Live employee hit the wrong key.
We now know that UMK3 will be 43.62 MB in size, cost 800 MS points, and feature 2-4 player multiplayer. A few lucky gamers (not us) managed to purchase and download the full game, and show off their gamertags as proof. Something tells us, regardless of earlier plans, that next Wednesday will be rather fatalistic. Not to be confused with fatality-istic, that's just lame.
I can't believe I missed it. :(
Speaking of which, Schlep seems to be #1 in the world at it now. :tu:

I think the XBLM is going a bit haywire. I just saw a banner for UMK3... but there's nothing to download.
The PSU beta being reavailable is really weird, considering that it ended this morning. :x (Another weird thing is that the PSU monthly fee is the only thing on the entire marketplace that is in US dollars, not MS points.)
It just popped up under new releases for me. At first I couldn't download it but now I can. The tony hawk demo is there too. Twice.
Edit: Nevermind. Stops at 99% and "Can't download".

Just got UMK3 right now.
UMK3 seems to be gimped like the release that was up yesterday. Disconnects from Live as soon as you boot it up. Also, you better be able to change the buttons or else my doa stick is worthless.
I grabbed UMK3 too. I want to play this on Live so bad.

I was able to download UMK3 at about 11:30am or so and play it. Every time I loaded up the game, though, it disconnected me from Xbox Live. I got in contact with Microsoft about it and it seems that they are being slammed with calls about it, and to expect a fix in the next 24 hours (I doubt the fix will be out that quickly, though).

The trial game of MK3 didn't allow me to change the button mapping. For those of you who bought the full game, can you change the buttons, or are you stuck with the defaul pad setting? I'm not buying this game if I can't map the buttons to match my DOA4 stick.
Doesn't look like you can remap the buttons in the full game, sadly.

Ok, everyone that got this HAS to add me to their list. We played a bunch tonight, and after some initial stompings from Evil mog, it was on.
I unlocked the 3 secret kharacters, so if I host, we all get to play them. And by inputting the versus screen kodes we can play at different levels. Also, once you unlock all 3 secret kharacters, you cycle through some different stages naturally (the blue portal for instance).
Props to Opaque for ignoring invites. :(

I got mine after I got 10 ranked wins, but I don't know if that's because of that achievement or the number of achievements I'd unlocked up to that point.

So is there any 360 arcade stick that would be OK for this game? I know the DOA stick is out of the question because you can't re-map the buttons. If they keep putting out cool 2D fighters on XBLA I might invest in one, preferably wireless.

Playing against Smoke has become formulaic in the extreme. Though I find an equal number of Cyrax and Sub-Zero abusers. Also, MOG ACCEPT MY FRIEND REQUEST.

After I owned this idiot who was spamming freeze attacks with Sub-Zero with Striker's grenades / nightstick throw he sent me a message calling me a 'cheese bitch', I had a good laugh and told him to learn the game. He fired back with a chat invitation and because I was having such a good time with it I accepted it and listened to him scream for about a minute about how I should die, how my Gamerscore means I'm not a man, and how I'm a button-masher. I, for my part, didn't even attempt to amount a retort because I was too busy laughing. This only made him madder, and before he left he screamed "FUCK YOU".

I have the trial and am inching towards a purchase, but I'm perhaps only one of a handful of people on Earth that has never played this series for more than five minutes. I am simply horrible at it.
Playing on Live with achievements is tempting as hell though.

So Doom has the worst match set up system ever; you have to exit the room to change any options then re-invite everyone.
Also, UMK3 is too ambiguous about it's achievements. It says you get the Fatality and Friendship ones for doing them in a Versus match, but it doesn't point out that it has to be in a ranked match.
Man, there's nothing lamer than a crappy Smoke player. I've had three people quit on me when they discovered I knew how to block the teleport/spear.
Kameo themed deck out for Uno now. Anyone play it yet? I don't get what the transformations do for you (if anything).
I have it, and I think the transformations are just for show. The Whatnot card is awesome though.The idea is to build up a huge fucking hand while everyone else whittles their pile away and then pull the switcheroo at the last second FTW.
The Kameo theme deck is actually a lot of fun. There is a ton of added strategy for team play because you can switch hands at just the right time to win, etc.
What else is on tap for XBLA in the near future? I'm coming to the realization that I just suck at Lumines. I refuse to buy UMK3 without remappable buttons. I need new shit.
