Some of the stuff sucked but considering what kind of show it was I think it was overall pretty solid.

What? The 90s was awesome in terms of television animation. Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo,Doug,Batman,The Simpsons, southpark, there are to many to list.

BTAS holds up. As do some episodes of Ren & Stimpy. Then again, I don't think Batman started coming on until the mid-90s.

Does anyone recommend the Tick live series? I hear good things. Might be neat to watch that and the cartoon back to back.

Not that I'm disagreeing on this particular point, but the pop culture references aren't the sole reason the show sucked; it just wasn't funny.

The original Looney Tunes are loaded with pop culture references of the day (some I get, due to my love for b/w movies), but in addition, they're animated well and the jokes and situations are nothing short of knee-slapping hilarity genius.

Honestly, the pop-culture references were the only things I found even remotely amusing about Tiny Toons and Animaniacs, if just for the celebrity caricatures.

Re: Tick; love it. Buying it. Right after I get Justice League Season 2 (skipped Season 1 since it sucked, but got exponentially better from S2 on. And fuck Batman Beyond. Never liked that show).
