My dad and his wife got married with all the people they wanted to invite (at least 50 people) for probably under $300. They got married at their church and they had the reception afterwards at their house. It was a little crowded but it sure beats $25,000, fuck that.
I love how this thread has turned from me asking about a sleeping solution to focusing on my wedding.
The way we figured the $5,000 price tag was $1,000 for the rental of the place that we found, $1,000 for the BBQ catering, about $500-$1,000 for decorations, and the rest to cover music, photo person, clergy person... all that jazz. These are all guesstimates, hence the reason why it's a floating figure, but as we look more into it in the next few months we'll see where it takes us. Neither one of us wants a big expensive wedding, but at the same time we want to do something and having it in my mother's backyard is unrealistic for the number of people we'd like to invite (I have a lot of people in my side of the family alone, and I'm close to a good number of them).
So, yeah, folding beds... pretty spiffy...
Unless you can find proof that the technology has drastically improved in the last decade or so, take my advice and don't bother with inflatable futons. I had a friend in grade-school who owned two of those things and not only were they a pain to inflate, but they did nothing but leave me with a back ache whenever I spent a night sleeping on them.Quote:
