Finally saw it last night. Excellent and thoroughly enjoyable movie.
Most of you guys are movie assholes --- nitpicking, complaining about realism, missing or not paying attention to scenes, over-analyzing plot points. If I ever become like that, I'll just stop watching movies.
Part of loving something is picking it apart! Digging in to the in's and out's of the thing.
Nobody'd be having these conversations if the movie wasn't worth a shit.
I don't understand how one can watch movies and not have even a little bit of a critical eye about things.
Saw it. Very good movie. Not the best i have ever seen but good nevertheless.
STFU noob. Nobody gives a fuck what you thought of the movie.
Also, welcome to TNL.
I'm all for discussing things about movies and having a critical eye about them, especially for things like interpretation of scenes, themes, social commentary, glaring plot holes, etc. However, most of the types of discussions I see in these movie threads are stuff like, "How did Joker know the exact altitude of the helicopter to perfectly set up that clothesline?!" or "That hospital explosion wasn't realistic because that would have required weeks of planning and strategic bomb planting!" or "Superman Returns was so unbelievable because Lois Lane wasn't a very professional reporter!" It's just stuff that needs to be taken for granted when watching movies.

You know what I hate? People who say: This isn't just a good comic book movie, it's a good overall movie! So was Spiderman 2, and Ironman, too. As if superhero movies aren't just action thrillers, which have been around for decades. Stop degrading every superhero movie out there in order to make a point as a lazy writer. A lot of the other movies were awesome, too. Just as much so as TDK.
I don't think you can deny the superhero genre is actually a genre, though. Even within comic books, "superhero" is a category.
Unless you're saying that lumping it all together is bad for comics, which I'd agree with.
Yes. Exactly. Stop making superhero movie a four letter word. This movie was great, but so was Ironman. Both movies transformed the roots of their comics in to great movie experiences.
