The guy with one eye managed to through the shit out the window. Thats depth perception!
I think Clinton catches a lot of shit he doesn't really deserve over the whole Lewinsky thing. Sure, he's a United States president. But when you're over 50, married, surrounded by Secret Service, and under the eye of the media, scoring college ass is still scoring college ass.
Ra's introduced himself as Ducard. In the comics Ducard taught Bruce his detective skills, and he tends to switch sides a lot. It was a fairly clever twist.. Neeson is obviously a lead actor, but Ken Watanabe's short-lived stardom after The Last Samurai made the twist a little less obvious.
"It was not an element that made my view of the movie more favorable".
Saw it again. It's pretty good. Joker clearly messes up the addresses, likely on purpose to turn Dent into his man. It's still way too long though and some of it is really silly, but since I've seen it once I noticed a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) camerawork that I missed the first time, and the entire story really became clearer to me. The annoying thing on viewing 2 was all the jumping around. Way too much.
I just saw it today (finally!), and I agree with everything you wrote. Way too long, I was getting alittle anxious toward the 2 hour mark. It isn't that I didn't enjoy it, I love the movie but it just felt long (and all the jumping around doesn't help). I figure a 2nd viewing will be more enjoyable. My friend hated it though, he thinks Hulk and X-Files (yikes) are better. WTF.
I don't know about your friend...
Anyway I'm sold on a dvd purchase of this (didn't get Begins) just so I can watch the Joker scenes over and over.
Also, the fight scenes are WAY way better shot and way less edited/cut. I stand by my previous statement that the slow powerful style he uses really makes it seem like the BAM! PIFF! shit is actually still happening, and I think they did a great job with that.
I honestly never felt after a second, third, or fourth viewing as the movie is too long. It felt just right.
but to each his own. I'm not complaining, just offering an opinion.
I don't think it's too long either, I've seen a lot of 100 minute movies that feel a lot longer than TDK.
