i didnt realize this was still a whole year away :(
You know, the internet has really ruined movies in the sense that it's impossible to keep secrets anymore. Unless you have superhuman willpower, it's easy to know everything that's in the works and stay up-to-date on ever phase of the filmmaking process. Early script reviews, reviews of test screenings, on-set spy photos, etc. By the time the movie's actually released you know everything already.
That's why that Cloverfield trailer was such a suprise. It's amazing that no one saw that coming.
same can be said about the game industry (and wrestling for people who care) as well.
With games it's not nearly as big a problem, however. Seeing screenshots and gameplay videos is a lot different than actually sitting down and playing a game. Plus, the gaming press seems to avoid spoiling major plot points when they can.
However, movie is not only much shorter than your average game, but it's not interactive- you're just watching it, not playing it, so the plot and visuals are all you have to go on. Spoiling those robs a lot more from the experience.
i agree that sux...most of the time i wish i could avoid trailers, too. i saw the trailer for "death sentence" yesterday, and while it looks really good, (kevin bacon is a bad-ass!) it just seemed to really show you alot of what happens.
Point. But that's one one movie out of millions.
