I didn't even really like Wario Ware or Twisted all that much, but this looks really great. There might be a little bit of a barrier, but i'm willing to say that it should be worth overcoming. I'm starting to like the new Nintendo more and more. With this stuff, the micros, and the Bit Gens, the GBA is shaping up to be some sort of awesome hipster system. Pls keep doing that Nintendo. ;_; Unfortuanately, this is the last game on the j release list unless something else is announced.
The batter with the little dancing alien really appeals to me. Something about it is just too ~ precious ~

It's not like i hate either. I thought Twisted in particular was pretty nice, i just didn't feel like playing either after i beat the main game.

I've beaten all of the stages unless there's a 9th level. It'd be awesome. It would kick ass.
Rhythm Tengoku is short and it's not difficult if you're just going for THE END screen, but like the Wario Ware games, that's not what it's about. It's a very fun game, more so than the Wario Wares were to me, and though i'd be part of a minority, more fun than Ouendan. I think i like it more after i beat it. I'm going back to stages i just loved, not worrying about finding out what's next. There's a lot of creativity for a rhythm game and quite a variety of stages even for a Wario Ware-type.

The language barrier prevents you from reading directions, but as long as you have basic comprehension skills, you can figure every stage out. Even the drill sergeant, even Aka-chan, even the synchronized dancers. There's not a bit that's hard to figure out within a minute. It's just a matter of being able to react quickly and correctly.

I got it for $33 w/ free shipping from Yes Asia, but i think it was pre-order only. It was certainly worth every penny though, even for Yes Asia's stupid stock time.

I've been ignoring this for no particular reason, but I finally watched some videos and it looks crazy awesome. I wish one of you guys would have smacked me over the head with this sooner.

I was playing this for the last hour. I really am enjoying it, but the language barrier is a little killer sometimes. I'm right now on the stage with all the girls in komonos and the thing is a bitch. :-P I love the mouse stage.

Woo! I medaled all the stages yesterday. The only thing left is to get the Perfect rank in all the stages. That will take quite some time, as the precision is pretty unforgiving. But it's an awesome game. A must-buy for all rhythm game fans.

And the YesAsia price is still about $33-34, free shipping. That's the price of a regular US GBA game + tax, so what gives on the hesitation?

I noticed today in the game's credits that my friend working at Nintendo (who I mentioned before did some art for WarioWare Touched as her first game there) did a number of things for this. She was also listed under voice, so I'm going to have to find out what voice(s) she did.

This really is a fun game, BTW.

Got this yesterday. 'sgood! I like the amplifier option. Makes the little GBA speaker pretty passable. I think. the music. is pretty. catchy. too. Pretty sure. Pretty. Sugoi!

Some GAF dude posted about the arcade game today, coincidentally. Said it was pretty much the GBA game modified for two players, with Point Blank style hearts for life.

Oh the arcade games out? I haven't been to the arcade in a while.

This runs flawlessly on GBSP for the PSP.

It's fun.

I fired up the old Game Boy Micro and played some of the first game. Man, it's just fantastic. Really great with some decent headphones too. It still has a bit of hiss and the sound quality iisn't great or anything, it's just the experience. You have to be there.

The good stuff is at the 2:10 mark. So now it's "Wubbadubbadubba is that true?" Guess it could've been worse =[

Yeah, it could've been worse: it could've been the original. Wubadub is BETTER.

It would have been better if they could reproduce the effect on the voice from the original so it doesn't just sound like someone saying "wubadubaduba" but other than that I have no objections.

I'm glad that they seem to at least put a little bit of effort into the English versions, even if I don't always agree with that effort. That said, I'll be in Japan this week, and I'm picking up the Japanese version. When I can get it cheap, I'll get the English version as well, but the Japanese versions have always been my "real" copies of the games.

And yes... I also wish this wasn't on the Wii. Hell, I don't even have a 3DS yet, and don't really want to get one yet, but I'd rather have it be on there.

I'm actually pretty happy to finally have Rhythm Heaven on a full-sized console, I just wish it wasn't this one. I'm actually going to have to think about batteries in a Wii remote. Weird.

I finished off Rhythm Tengoku and went back to see why I stopped playing Rhythm Heaven. Now I remember: Big Rock Finish. Fuck that shit and fuck flicking.

Is that the guitar one with the note bending? Because that's the best one in the whole game!

It's the ghost band where the ghost goes 1 and a 2 and a 1, 2, 3 and then you have to go dunn dunn da dunnnnnnn and it's horrible.

I cancelled my Vita games preorders at GS (Amazon B2G1 free sale) and walked out with Rhythm Heaven Fever. I am happy to report that input lag has not been as large an issue with the game as I would have initially imagined, but I have no idea why. It might just be way more lenient than the handheld versions, or maybe that you don't really rely as much on visual cues as in a game like Rock Band, but it's a lot of fun.

It's more that it sucks to flick 4 times really fast. Then you wonder if you were off beat or if the flick didn't register. It just sucks.

The first time I saw the little dude in the background catch a football in Double Date I lost it. Then it kept being different guys and it was totally not fair!

I think this games loses a bit of its charm by having higher production values. The games are still creative and fun but there are no like squiggly lines or completely crazy shit. They gave the game a sort of unified look.

Yeah, all of the games having a relatively uniform look is kind if a bummer. It's a really nice look, though, and the game isn't without its own brand of charm. Monkey Watch and flippy seals are pretty adorable, man.

This game is delightful and free from any problems with input lag. You're reacting to the sound more than the visual. If you can keep beat with the music, you're fine. The game even obscures your vision at some point in most of the stages, so you're required to rely on the sound.
Unless there's a later stage where you have to react to flashing lights without any audio cue, it's never going to be a problem. That means the people who were going "WAH, YOU HAFTA HAVE 2 TEEVEES TO PLAY THIS" were WRONG! Wrong people.

This also might be the best Rhythm Heaven game so far! I don't know yet, i'd have to erase my memory of the first game and play it fresh. It's pretty wonderful.

This is definitely the best one in terms of mechanics, but the style of the first game is so good. But the little robot voice in this one is something special. ohyeah. litzgoh! But Don Don Pa Pa.

I liked the flicking, but some of the games were uninspired. There's nothing clever about the taiko drum game. They played it too safe.

This game, though. This. Game. I'm on the eighth column and there have been zero duds along the way. If I had to pick the worst one, Donk Donk isn't a game I'm particularly eager to play again. I was waiting for it to kick into total freakout mode like seesaw or badminton did, but freakout mode never came.

Maybe that was my problem with it then. All i know is that with this one and the original, i don't want to put it down, but with the DS game i had to make myself play it. I think the Moai heads just stopped me. I don't like that doo wop.

Even though flicking could be touchy now and then, it's still better than those god-damned mushy Wiimote buttons. Fever would play so much better if Nintendo had given that controller buttons that were worth a damn.

Rhythm Heaven DS' tapping > pressing buttons on any Nintendo hardware.

YES. Rhythm Heaven is sooo good, GBA or Wii. I still pick up the GBA version every once in a while to get a few medals and a few perfects. Rhythm Heaven Fever is a little tougher and has more levels, but the original is just classic.
