BTW, I'm with weeman. I'd take shitty guitar and sweet amp over a sweet guitar and a shitty amp any day. But then again I'm really just a nub.

i think you need a satisfactory instrument before going with a decent amp. Its no good getting a rad amp if your guitar has the action of a cello. But once you've got an instrument thats comfortable, amp has priority.
You can sound awesome through a shitty guitar and a bad ass amp.
You cannot sound awesome through a great guitar and a shitty amp.

I need to make notes of some mods I used to know. At one point in time I knew how to make a 5150/6505 take El34. Completely changes the voice of the amp.
