Also, I've got a guy in Baltimore that'd totally screen those fuckers. Shatsuki used him for a t-shirt job if you need references.

lol, shatsuki
I don't mean to high-hat you Josh but I know one thousand hundred screen printers. It's so bad in this town you couldn't kick a half a cat turd without it banking off three guys who print shirts. To illustrate the magnitude of the problem here is a photo of my girlfriend's printing gear:

The issue here is that neither plastisol nor water based works worth a fuck on a pedal that you step on. I need it to be epoxy ink and nobody that I know locally has ever even heard of using such a thing. So I'm going to the same guy that Black Arts uses. He's up to speed and knocks these things out all day.
Pacrappa, do you know anyone that does custom car stickers? Like a the ones that come on a white sheet and you can do the detail stripe across a car with?
I've been thinking of looking into that for pedals. I figure if it can be rained on every day, it might work for a pedal.
I'm doing an experiment with my EGC. I emailed Kevin about sawing a custom nut for me to accept the low 6 from an 8 string set (low F#). The theory is that I can get there and still have proper string tension by using these strings.
Doing a workshop on Wednesday and making a couple hundred, so I ordered an Ibanez Mikro Bass as a project. 28.6" scale bass. Did some research and everything review I saw was glowing. Most 3/4 size instruments are just bullshit toys, but this seems to not be the case here. I'm going to try and make it a 4 string version of my Schecter CB 2000 and tune it in 5ths. The CB-2000 is my favorite playing guitar I have. It's so perfect for sludge. And I nearly never play on the 5th (womens) string.
I'll need to fill/reroute the pickups for a pair of deathbuckers. Need a new nut filed for the thinner strings. Perhaps sand down the neck sides to come closer to the strings? May not be necessary, and it certainly won't be impossible to play if I don't.
Want to play in Drop F.
More tune low play slow.
Can you even hear drop F on a bass? Don't get me wrong, I fully support your endeavor.
No no, I'd be using 8 string actual guitar strings. Basically a detuned baritone guitar.
I have a guitar with a 26.5" scale that can get there without being too muddy. This should have some clarity.
Oh, you'll be fine in that case. My regularly stringed 6 string acoustic is tuned as low as I can while still getting a tone out of it, which is probably near A or B. The strings being so loose opens up so much more room for expression in your playing, though it makes your sustain much worse.
I've gotta say, for being like $175 that Mikro bass is impressive.
On to bigger and more interesting things: I was pondering selling my EGC a few weeks back to get some funds for the restaurant, but decided against it.
Now a luthier has offered me a custom build as a trade. We were initially talking about 8 strings so that I can cover more sonic ground (I'm nearly always the only guitar instrument), but I'm a little uneasy about the width of the neck - and I'm a clumsy guitarist to start with. I never really get all meddly-meddly either. So I fired this idea off to him earlier: A redesign of my CB-2000 5 string with a 30" scale to be tuned in fifths the same way from low F. Here's the interesting part though: doubled 4th and 5th strings for a little something extra on the high end when I go there. So, actually a 7 string, but in 12 string format. Sort of. I figure if I'm going to have something custom made, I might as well get something that doesn't otherwise even exist. No one sells 5 strings to start with, never mind doubled ones. I'm building this to be the ultimate sludge guitar - and bearing in mind I don't usually play with a bass player the tuning should fill all the gaps. The tension would be high enough on a 30" scale that I could even get back to playing black metal on it. Normally black metal sounds weird on my instruments since the strings are tuned so low. Really kind of excited about this prospect.
"What kind of guitar do you play?"
Well...
