I know I was a big hater of the psp, but it's gotten a very respectible library (of capcom games I want ;) ). I still would like to pick on up, just not thrilled with the idea of spending so much on a handheld.Quote:

The DS is handily outselling the PSP in Japan I think, like 60-40 or maybe even 65-35. Not the case in the rest of the world.
Im not trying to diss the DS here (really!) but I think Japan's "taste" is becoming very very different from the rest of the Earth. The market is quite different from Europe and the US and that difference is growing. That has MAJOR implications for the future.
Oh, it's much more dire than that. DS has been selling 150k+ a week (and often closer to 200k) over there for a while, whereas PSP's moving 40-50k on a good week. The ratio is closer to 75-25.Quote:

this is a chart from GAF of LTD sales by month of PSP and DS for the US the DS is ahead in total sales by 1/2 a million or so

in Japan its a HUGE gap, I can't find the chart for Japan on GAF but it's out there some where
I believe in Europe the PSP was outselling the DS untill Nintendogs came out and then sales turned around and the DS is now ahead of it in overall sales
