SEGA of America, Inc., SEGA Europe, Ltd., and San Francisco-based Planet Moon Studios today announced a partnership to create game content for the PSP (PlayStation Portable) system based on a classic SEGA brand. The award-winning independent developer is critically acclaimed for original titles including Giants: Citizen Kabuto for PC and Armed & Dangerous for PC and the Xbox video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

TLDR

Planet Moon is a good developer but it would be nice to know what Sega franchise they're working on. Like Secret Level, their style doesn't seem to fit any of Sega's games especially ones made in Japan.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Planet Moon take on Toe Jam & Earl, or maybe Vectorman.

Yeah, TJ&E is all that really comes to mind that would fit their style.

And I see they conveniently left Infected out of their resume there.

Planet Moon is a talented developer in search of a break-out game. I keep hoping their next game will be it, and it keeps not happening. Here's hoping they manage it with whatever this ends up being, but seeing as it's on the PSP I kind of doubt it.

I doubt we'll see another TJ&E game without Greg Johnson's involvement. I'd rather not get another one unless he's involved.

What's with all the MEGATON secrecy on Sega's part about these "classic" revivals? They already spilled the beans on Golden Axe and PSU, so why not at least announce a title? Geez....

I was also thinking TJ&E when I first read this, but wouldn't it be cool if it was Alex Kidd?

Sega doesn't exactly bat .1000 when it comes to reviving classic franchises.. still interested in why they can't just spill the beans on what's being remade.

A wild guess, but since it's PSP, it might be another polygonal 2.5D game.

Batting .1000 would suck.
