Showtime is stupid. The time rule is cool though.
This game would still be the best Wii game

Played this at my bros house today, looks completely awesome, but I liked Dirt and Forza 2 way better.
LOL. I don't like that either -- most of the races have you going from West to East, North to South and back again. And like you said, if you 'fail', you end up having to drive alllllll the way back. There definitely isn't enough short circuits, everything is quite extensive.
I still like Paradise though.
Compass: It's not too hard getting them silver; gold is tricky. Guys like Bacon and former TNLer Zondaro keep breaking some of my Showtime and/or TimeRule records. (Good thing I got the Time Rule achievement already).
I guess I misunderstood how the system works. I thought beating either the time trial or showtime score for that street gave you silver, and beating both gave you gold. But to get gold, I have to beat the best score of everyone in my friends list?
*nod*
Any of your friends and other rival players. It seems broken though because every so often I am told that I've lost a series of roads, but my actual "counter" of roads I had beat doesn't go down. Kind of hard to explain but it's only fun if you like the challenge of getting the best records amongst your friends (which I assume is mostly here on TNL).
What if you never go online? Are silvers automatically upgraded to gold?
Did I miss something?
I thought you just had to beat the offline records to get the Time and Showtime achievements.
the solution then is to not lose the race
it should really be a non-issue anyway, there's challenges at like every intersection in the game if one is giving you trouble... the only one I can think of where it would be a pain is burning route, but there it even gives you an excuse to backpedal and find a quicker path from A to B
