Yeah, at very least they should give you the option to pick which Junkyard you want to start at when you load the game, or better yet give the option to select between them whenever you pull into one.
Considering you have to wait 10 seconds for each car to load when you're selecting cars there, the notion of seamless loading is out of the window by that point anyway.
They should have that as an option at the very least.

Im wondering how they play tested it. Cus i would think anyone that plays the single player game more than a little bit would have caught these things.

The creators had a vision of a giant racing world. In the real world, you have to drive around a lot. You don't want to lose realism in Burnout and detract from the creators' vision, do you?
The more I play, the more one particular thing the developers said is bugging me. The "If you lose, another race is at the next light" was one of the reasons for not giving the player restart or teleport abilities. Yeah, that not only sucks in practice but most of the races are car-specific Burning Laps.
I'm really enjoying Burnout Paradise, but leaving out race restart and teleporting to the junkyard is inexcusably stupid. Kind of like the burnout chaining in Burnout Dominator, now that I think on it.

Anyways, I just got the Showtime achievement and it was done w/o beating existing online scores. (I am sure guys like Bacon and Firstblood will keep playing for the best online scores possible though, heh).
So if anyone who thought they should have got it - make sure you look to see EVERY road for Showtime and Times are GOLD. You can toggle between the Offline/Online scores by pressing A on the map. Hope that helps.
Yeah, those achievements are based on offline scores, not online.
