Great haul day today. I won a two-disc Phil Collins: Finally... the First Farewell Tour DVD set doing a radio station wheel spin, and then bought Otogi for $10 at an EB nearby. I nearly bought Gungrave and Otogi 2, but decided to just buy this today, since they had a few copies of the others. I spent about 20 minutes there talking about HGM when they found out I worked on it. That was a pretty neat experience.

I'm debating whether to build a new PC or not. This Dell is only 2 years old but it runs like shit even with a 3 GHz processor and a gig of RAM. The next few weeks should tell, though.

Unfortunately, there's probably a lot of bloatware that Dell pre-installed that's causing your machine to slow down. I suggest you look to see if you can uninstall some Dell crap first (also, when's the last time you defragged?). If that doesn't do the trick, then perhaps it is time to build a new PC.

My PC's hard drives were nuked a few weeks back. I know it's not really the software. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's just bottlenecked somewhere but hell if I know how to determine the cause.

It also hurts not having a PCI-E or AGP slot. I have to rely on onboard video.

yeah, its pretty bad. Everytime the school wants to build a new building they put it where the parking is, slowly moving parking farther and farther away.

And even with people parking around the school, its still faster to just bycicle to class.

Ebay has tons of PS1 memory cards on the super-cheap.

I think you asked me about this game in the King's Field thread or one of your PMs. I bought it forever ago, but have yet to start it (which applies to like half of my collection). From what I've read, it's pretty cool, though not much like King's Field at all. It's step-based (like the original Phantasy Star or Wizardry games), and a straight-up dungeon crawler (one giant multi-floor dungeon below a single rest/buy stuff area). KF on the other hand, as you know, allows full 3D movement and drops you into a gigantic wide-open world that of course contains various underground dungeons.

I think Silver lets you do everything but use online multiplayer, and there are free dates, but they aren't every weekend.

thnx, I'll try a local ebay variation. For some odd reason psx memory cards are the rarest item in Denmark. At least everywhere I move.

Regarding Wizardry ps2, I might post my impressions later this week, as the game arrived today. I don't expect it to be another KF though, don't worry. This whole personal dungeon crawler trend has made me yearn for the dungeons of Arx Fatalis. Sadly I got neither xbox or PC and from what I heard it's not BC with the 360. I related dungeon crawler news, I believe Dirtysouth is hunting me down a Shining Force Neo. ;)

Pity you got one of the worst Canon cameras out there. So much better can be had for the same price (even within the Powershot line, damn).

Edit: Okay, I guess the Elph model has gotten better than last I knew, but it's still my least favorite Powershot.

Traded in Prey for $31 at FYE and got a used copy of Saints Row for $35.

Unfortunately the disc is all scratched and won't advance past the loading screen at the beginning of the game. How can someone beat up a game disc so bad on a game that's only been out for like a month? My copy of Prey looked like it had never been played even though I put a good 30 or so hours into the game.

Oh yeah, I got Doom XBLA as well. It's my current favorite XBLA title and I'm amazed how well it has held up after 13 years. Online 4 player co-op FTW.
