Help Me Stay Awake
I don't know why, but for the past year or so, I have been having incredible trouble staying awake in certain situations. I've given it much thought, but I still can't understand what might cause this to happen to me. I'm generally an active person, I eat pretty healthy, and I usually get 8 or 9 hours of sleep a night.
The problem is that whenever I'm bored, or doing something I don't really want to be doing, waves of drowsiness consume me, and I feel completely helpless. The bad news is that this also happens to me during classes. I ended up sleeping through the majority of my classes in high school, which wasn't a big deal, but now that I'm in college I consider this a serious problem. Even when I am interested in the material being covered, and I know how important it is, it feels like I can't control the drowsiness.
Do any of you have any idea what this might be, or how I might go about trying to overcome this?

I was watching one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and this chick put out cigarettes on her arm whenever she got drowsy. Try that.

Yeah, you too good for speed?

No need for meth when regular old amphetamines will do the trick.

I have the same problem. I started sitting in the front row, but i would still fall asleep in class, just less often. What kind of breakfast are you eating? If you skimp because you don't have time, try getting up a little earlier to eat a big breakfast. That helps the most.

I get up for my job at 3:45-4:00am so I hardly get time to eat at all. Maybe a snack during first break and that's it.
There was a few times I get done and just sit in my van for a min to relax a bit, but sometimes I would drift and wake up an hour or two later to see I'm the only one in the parking lot. :\

napalm wasn't going to graduate either way. At least if he keeps falling asleep he'll flunk out sooner and save money.
