btw, is there any confirmation that the PS3 will play PS1/2 games in high definition?

I've decided that when it hits $300, it'll be worth getting. The price is right and the games will be there.

I still find it odd we havent seen jack as far as an actual living breathing console goes.

There has to be a functional PS3 sitting somewhere in japan, right? Lets see the fucker. Its supposed to be in stores in two and a half months isnt it?

You'd be better off waiting for remakes. PS1 games look like trash in HD.

As for PS2, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I think it will be a situation where when the PS3 hits, developers will continue to make the bulk of their games on PS2 and make them upscalable until Sony starts moving some decent numbers.

As it stands, game makers won't even recover half their investment in development this holiday season and if Sony doesn't move some major numbers within the first six to eight months we may see some companies abandon ship altogether.

I don't think anyone in this industry can afford to sit and watch Sony fuck around for a year trying to play catch-up.

Sony said they still have a year worth of PS2 games coming.

Good for them because that's the only way they are going to survive 2007.

This is what I've been waiting for. Although $650 is very steep, getting a system with 250 GBs and TiVo biult in will definitely sell me. I'm just curious on how TiVo will work, though. Don't you have to subscribe to it or something?
