intelligent quoob seems like it would be one as well. i didnt know about Medievil being one.
I knew about Devil Dice being one, but didn't know about Midievil.
ps3 kiosks are starting to appear:
http://www.versuscity.net/ps3kiosk.jpg
where are the monkeys going nuts at it
People should vandalize those with giant "lol $600" slogans.
does it need to be that big?
they're keeping the spiderman font then......hmph.
Holy Christ, it's a monolith!
not that it matters, but those kiosks are in japan, and they're video demo only, none playable.
I thought the "Game over! Insert $599 to continue" was funny.
The kiosks are for Japan? Why? "Look at what you can't buy!"
but theyre wasting a system.....or a shell of one in each display?
Most likely a shell if it's just running videos. Good ol' $30 Sony dvd player in there is my guess.
WTF, we're less than 2 months away from launch and still no pre-orders? :(
if i miss the launch, it'll be a few months before i could get one :(
that won't be fierce at all.
It's because places that do take reserves don't want another 360 fiasco where large amounts of ppl who did reserve were not able to get one tille spring.
Stores like EB and Gamestop are waiting till Sony gives the official number and the units are actually in the warehouse.
do you really think the PS3 will get a price drop by E3? i can see your point, but when it hits i'll be itching all over for a new toy(including the Wii). I have never regreted buying a system even after price drops....it's just me i guess.
oh well, we'll see what happenes.
that's pretty much the best advice one can offer, and besides, the launch titles appear to suck anyway so waiting isn't the hardest part
it'll probably also help to weed out the first-run hardware problems, since around e3 there will probably be a more refined version out with better capacitors and shit
PS3 pictures/video of the actual machine...

load time seems fine to me, atleast in motorstorm it is.
I WANT IT!!!
I've never cared for that media bar interface.

Check out those fingerprints.
That's one thing I don't like about the black DS Lite. It's way too easy to smudge.
The PS3 is ugly form the front.
I really wanted to enjoy this system, btw. It's just hard to stay excited about what is basically a steaming pile of horse shit.
I could give a rats ass about the PS3 until some worthwile games come out. Thank god I saw the light and am now not going to watse my money on a faulty system at launch.
This board is trying to much.
lol ps3 is such shit
yah looks like it's made out o the same shinny crap the PSP is made of.....finger prints AHOY!!!
and btw, that "MotorStorm" shot looks hot...the colors look awesome.
EDIT: i still want a white PS3....oh well, i'll just get the black one, then the white one whenever that's released.
EDIT2: anyone notice how that PS3 has a wifi indicator white it's a none premium PS3?(no chrome trim) ...strange.
are you going to sit and stair at it all day or play the games? ...of i forgot, you can't afford it anyways.
faulty? excuse me but the XBXO 360s were breaking down left and right.
Don't know how much stock to put in this, but CNN Business was just talking about Sonu and the PS3. Apparently Sony's stock dropped big time since the TGS and that chances are slim that the PS3 will be out when it is supposed to. Nothing is on their website yet, and I don't think any of this is coming straight from Sony. It seems to be stemming from the overheating PS3(s) that appeared at TGS.
Again, not sure how much truth there is in this, and I will continue to check CNN's website to see if they put up the story and if they change anything.
hmmmm, well the PS3 did crash when running RR7 at TGS, so i wouldnt be surprised.
What surprises me the most is that Sony did not reveal anything on thier PS3 online network(the equivalent to XBL). wft is taking them so long? is there such a thing to begin with?
PSX had a lot of problems. PS2 had a lot of problems. PSP had a lot of problems. Just because you didn't see any of them doesn't mean they don't exist.
It might be better to launch the PS3 in late 2007 for $300/$400 instead of releasing small quantities of overpriced, buggy hardware now.
Anyone who buys the PS3 at launch is tarded.
(lol @ Marwan)
Sony fired the guys who wanted the PSX to succeed. Sony wanted to price the PSX so high that it wouldn't sell. The guys who priced the PSX at $300 rather than $400+ were fired precisely because they were smart and made business-savvy decisions.
And if you think releasing the system in 2007/08 is the right decision, you're worse then the retarded monkeys they have working there right now. PS3 will sell out this holiday year no matter what the price point is. Granted they only have 400,000 units, it will easily sell out. And just because RollTroll thinks they should release the system 2 years after their competition doesn't mean it's anything but what would be one of the worst business decisions ever, even worse then the ones they have already made.
I'd love to see where you got this information from, because I've never heard any of this before.
Sony's already not looking too hot against the 360's lineup during the spring due to the late launch. You want them to delay to Fall '07 to go up against Halo 3?
Forgot that the PS3 spring lineup actually looks weak next to Wii too. Super Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. Brawl, Warioware, Metroid Prime: Corruption...yeah, Sony has to get that thing out there and hope for the best at this point.
It's true, the info is easy to find. Guys like Bernie Stolar, I think, who engineered the PSX launch, priced the system at $300 in the USA even though Japan wanted $400. I don't know if they were fired as much as encouraged not to stay, nevermind the fact that they defeated Sega in about three days.
BioShock, Alan Wake, Crackdown, Lost Planet, Blue Dragon, Shadowrun
Well, moving it back to a real launch in March 2007 would have the following advantages:
-proper supply
-more polished games (online with tony hawk etc.)
-more reliable hardware
-larger list of blu-ray
-lower price
Pretty significant.
The advantage of pushing some shit onto the shelf now is to blunt the creeping acceptance of 360, but if the launch ends up being the shitstorm we all think it is going to be that just might drive more people to M$ (ROFL). Making a huge awesome launch, 5 million units, $400/$500, 50 games, in March could be a BIG DEAL and we all know they're gonna do a "relaunch" in March anyway (similar to what MS did).
I dunno. I think a case can be made for both sides. It's a tough decision and I'm not paid to make it thankfully.
I thought the early launch of 360 hurt M$ early on but right now it looks like pure genius in forcing Sony's hand.
What is this, bizzaro world? Sega got a huge jumpstart and pretty much tied Nintendo after getting it's ass kicked by the nes unless I'm horribly misstaken.
Sony will lose some customers by delaying the launch in europe, but it won't matter that much since MS seems to have problems grasping this market.
The Genesis only flew off the shelves the moment that the SNES hit the stores. Many people waited and waited until it's launch, then bought the Genesis.
I bet there are millions of people waiting for the PS3's launch to make a decision on what console(s) to buy. I suspect that a weak PS3 launch will result in huge 360 sales starting on launch day.

Why is it when every time this happens, people say "poor ventilation" and act surprised? I mean, it's probably just a PR move, but still. It's lame.
It can be worked out... by moving the power supply out of the system. Which is, you know, what everybody is doing nowadays.
Holy lol, that's hilarious. Fucking worthless Sony and their shitty hardware quality control. Everyone who buys a PS3 at launch is gonna end up having to buy another in less than a year.
A console overheating in a closed off area, who could have known.. jesus christ how tnl makes me suck the sony cock, might as well bet a monthly ban on something.
Every console has had technical (usually heat) issues at launch. Nothing new or suprising here.
Sony is so lame. It's a good thing everyone bought a 360 instead; those have no known overheating issues.

Apparently controllers are $40, the memory card adapter is like $13, and the dvd remote will be around $25-30 too. Not too unreasonable especially compared to prices of current accessories.
good. cuz smart people would buy a PS3 instead.
xbox 360 over-heated and crashed and gave you the nice red ring. The point is, all first gen production systems have some kind of a problems, wheather it's from Sony or MS.
that surely didn't stop the 360 from crashing.
For the record, airing out the power supply fixed a lot of power supply related problems at launch (360 just had a lot of issues). Can't do that with PS3.
But your equivalance still makes no sense.
"PS3 will be a piece of shit at launch, but I'm still going to buy it because the 360 was a piece of shit at launch too".
I didn't buy a 360 at launch. Mine from February is running fine. My original Xbox from 11/15/01 is still running great. My GC from 11/19/01 collects dust just fine.
The only consoles I've had problems with are my launch day PSX which burned out, and the PS2 I bought in August in '01 had to be sent in to get the DRE problems fixed.
PS3 remote control...

Marwan, I'm only going to do this once. For your sake, do not buy a launch PS3.
Spiderman fonts on the remote, AWESOME!!!
$40 for a controller is still bullshit.
still cheaper than the xbox 360 wireless controller...

Smart people also know halo is far better than metroid.Quote:
good. cuz smart people would buy a PS3 instead.
40 for a controller is more than reasonable.
Bullshit. Paying almost the price of a new game for a controller is ludicrous. Peripherals shouldn't exceed $30.
Giant enemy crabs.
