SCEA president Kaz Hirai recently commented on launch of the PS3, saying it would be hard for the company to keep up with demand during this holiday season. Even with 2 million units available on launch day, there would be less than 700,000 consoles assigned each of the three major territories. Now, it appears as though there won't be 700,000 units available period, with Europe not seeing the system until early 2007.

Looks to me like the Nintendo Wii is going to own the japanese market.
Evidently they see the XBox 360 in the US as their biggest threat, so 80% of PS3s are going there.
