It's no secret that the Xbox and now the Xbox 360 have struggled in the Japanese market. Now Microsoft Japan is about to introduce a cheaper Core version of the console in Japan in the hope that it will boost lagging sales. But will gamers care?

Nope. I'd say that it's looking like the U.S. will be MS's, and Japan's going to Nintendo, unless Sony gets its shit together REAL fast. Europe could go either way though.

I also heard that MS will be selling a HD-DVD/360 bundle in Europe for 50-100 pounds less than the PS3.
MS can package 360 with Japanese Porn stars and sell it for $100 and it still won't sell.
