He really does come across as a likable, decent guy. It's too bad that he spent his presidency surrounded by shitheads.

That being said, I already preordered his book on Amazon. Presidential memoirs fascinate me... speaking of which, I should probably get around to finishing Clinton's.

So long as you go in to memoirs with the understanding they are full of lies and horseshit to make themselves look good or better in retrospect they're fun. They're really just anecdotal old man stories.

I used to think this too but it's hard to say. I'm sure if you get him one on one he's a charming guy but it's kind of hard to rise to that level if you're not. It is politics after all.

And those shitheads you speak of? One big reason Bush got them on board in the first place was because his daddy hated them all... and they were kept around because they fed his ludicrous delusion of grandeur ("I'm the decider", etc.).

I know they seem like shitheads because of all of who they had to work with, but they were all actually likable, decent people.
