Who cares, Far Cry 2 has animals... that you can set on fire.
looks craptastic
Yeah I'm definitely going to pick up the english Aquanauts holiday. Thanks for posting that info Grave.
And english translation of Afrika would be nice. Doubt I'll re-purchase it though. I don't feel like the fact that I couldn't read a single line of text ruined my enjoyment of the game any. Although it would've been nice to read all of the animal facts they include in the game.
US Release
Quote:
Remember, Afrika? It's a nature-themed PS3-exclusive photography game that met moderate success when it debuted in Japan earlier this year. An English release seemed unlikely due to the niche content of the game, but it appears the game will be making its way to American shores -- and from an unlikely source, as well.
National Geographic has picked up the rights for Afrika, rebranding it as National Geographic: Africa. It's promised to release next month -- but with potentially very little fanfare.
For more on National Geographic: Africa, read our previous stories on Afrika.
LOL @ Me. I'm amazed it's coming out here at all, and in less than a month no less. Shoulda waited I guess... :/
Anybody want a Japanese copy of Afrika?
EDIT: I just did a search for this game on Gamestop to find the exact release and i found this: http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/Prod...oduct_id=72550 PANDAS?! ON MY DS?! I didn't know National Geographic did games.
Because nobody asked, I finally beat this game the other day (like 100%). It took me several months to beat it, but I overall really enjoyed my time with it. HOWEVER, I don't know what it says about me when I spend my Sunday staring at a TV screen waiting for a non-real virtual animal to do something so I can take a picture of it. It also gets frustrating when you end up staring at a virtual animal for 10 minutes, only to miss a photo opprutunity by glancing away from the screen for a second, and then have to repeat the whole thing.
EXAMPLE: Picture this, the scene is me playing the game on the couch w/my girlfriend who insisted she come over because she has nothing better to do on her own (like take photos of virtual animals for example).
Her: I'm thinking about stopping getting my nails done. It's becoming pretty expensive.
Me: Huh. Long nails on girls make me nervous, plus I heard it makes it hard to masturbate.
Her: Well I guess so. I don't really masturbate much though you know.
Me: I've done it twice already since we've been sitting on the couch. I'm about ready to throw some talcum powder down my pants pretty quick here because it's so wet down there.
Her: *ignoring what I say per usual* What are you doing on the TV?
Me: Trying to take a picture of a meerkat.
Her: Why?
Me: Timone was a meerkat. Meerkats are cool. Meerkats can dig as much dirt as their own body weight in a couple seconds. This game taught me that. I learned that. Plus this is the last picture I need before I beat the game.
Her: You told me I couldn't come over today because you were going to be busy...
Me: This is what I meant.
Her: I wish you wouldn't play so many games.
Me: I wish you had some girlfriends so I'm not your one and only source of entertainment.
*we proceed to fight, meanwhile, the onscreen meerkat does his little thing that I'm supposed to take a picture of, and when I look back at the screen I see the end of his little animation, meaning I missed the photo op*
Me: You made me miss the photo of my meerkat.
Her: Good. Let's go to the mall.
Me: No, now we have to wait here another 10 minutes, until he does it again, because you made me miss the first photo of my meerkat.
So if all that sounds appealing to you, which really, it is, you would enjoy this game. Next I'm going to import the English version of Aquanauts. Should be sweet.
You should have left out the last 2,000 words of that post.
So does the game play the Toto song or what?
