I complain about this a lot. Everybody tries to be wacky nowadays and it pisses me off. It seems competence, intelligence, and humor that actually challenges your preconceptions all take a backseat to how well you can spew out the latest zany meme or how well you can imitate the observational comedian on TV.
Yet another step towards Quackspeak.

I was thinking about writing a similar article for my school's paper. The amount of college aged people who think that they have great senses of humor, but don't seems odd. Of course, some people are funny, and by Christ it's okay for them to be funny, but the fakers just need to stop, it's definitely irritating.
I'm funny irl, but only in a really nerdy way.
