Can we sticky the proper spelling for this word on every forum. I'm by far not the spelling police, but for some reason this one word irritates the crap out of me, and people spell it wrong all over this place.

This post is rediculus.
Screwing up rediculous is fine, as these things go. Stupid, but whatever. Apostrophe-ing a plural, on the other hand, warrants one hit to the side of the head with a tire iron. *ftang!*

I fond thes pots rediculous.
Haha, that's exactly what I was hoping this thread would be about when I clicked it.
"Definately" also needs to die.

This is redecolis, nobody spells it wrong.
IT IS NOT A UBS CABLE FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
THE PACKAGE SAYS "USB"!!!
ridicule + ous = ridiculous. Enlgish isn't that fucking hard, folks.
I hate when customers come in asking for a High Density box for their new High Density TV. Or Dignickel. Or they have a HGTV.
Galaxia - I know I used to correct them. "Sir, HGTV is a channel. You might have a HDTV." Their response is "Yeah whatever. You guys made the damn thing." Hint: I'm asian.
Pisses me off to no end as well.
REDUNKALUS
I don't care so much about rediculous or definately.
I care a lot about loose. As in, "I hope the Yankees loose their next game."
I propose a forum filter that automatically changes "rediculous" to "recockulous."
whats this about spelling errors? No one does that around here. No sir.
I've seen so many people spell it "rediculous" that I thought it was some sort of in-joke. Or foreign thing.

Don't be ridicuhlos!
This is more for comic geeks, but the gross misspelling of Rogue as "R-o-U-g-e" really irks the shit out of me.
I see this word misspelled more than any other word in the English language.

I kind of find it hard to believe that anyone not knowing the difference never misused it in a written paper without being corrected throughout their entire academic career.
Are you seriously defending its misuse? It's basic-ass stuff.
Budnick! Cut it out or pay the price!Quote:

But, for your first statement, yes it would pretty easy to get through school without ever using "too." From the proof reading I've done, not a lot of people write wordy sentences that require that word (but lol, I'm in MS so whatever.) I guess you could ask Melf or Flux about the writing habits of studients these days.
But that brings me to another thing I think is wrong with grade school English classes. I don't know about you, but I had a couple English teachers that did that "group" proof reading crap. Which for grade schoolers is like the blind leading the blind. Little kids that would much rather be playing or eating candy have no real business teaching each other how to write. Group reading may work in private schools or accelerated classes, but it only hurts kids in public school imo.
btw, all of this post is just opinions. There is no reason for anyone to flip out and insult my mother's dog or something.
Ah Jesus..Here we go..
It's called 'white lightning' and if I had a steady enough supply your posts might actually start making sense.
its ok to apostrophe a plural if you stick it at the end of the word.
