Eh, I learn something new everyday. I get canker sores, and always thought they were cold sores. Therefore, I do not have herpes. Yay! :link:

I had a massive canker sore a few weeks ago, nurtured my lip to health, and then a second equally massive one grew back two days later. I used Anbesol to numb the pain when I ate--they don't hurt much when I'm not eating.
I can never tell what causes them. Seems like sometimes it's after I eat a lot of sugary stuff, other times for no reason at all. But I get them pretty frequently and I hate them with a passion. Aurora, what is the lysine you speak of?
your mom is dirty.
lol, no man, it's not herpes. herpese causes cold sores, not canker sores.
thanks, i'll try that.
canker soars are usually caused by acidity in the stomach, i used to take lactaid pills or something like that that neutralizes the acidity in the stomach and it greatly reduced canker sores, but i was too lazy to keep taking them all the time.
in my case also, i have an inflamation in my eyes called "Bihcet"(pronounced be-shet), it seems to mainly infect people in the Mediterranean region(for an unknown reason), it makes your eyes go very red(my eyes are always red), causes canker sores and in an advanced stage it causes joint problems. There is no cure for Bihcet, but there is a medication which im taking now that reduced the redness greatly and prevents joint problems. But somehow my canker sore problem has a mind of it's own.
I had a pimple on my cock once. That was unfortunate. :(
That was way too much information, jesus. Gross. TNL's weird dick phase continues.
That last person who should be lecturing TNL on weird phases is Cow.
Brothers don't shake hands. Brothers gotta' suck.
L-Lysine helps with both cold sores and cankers sores. The current medication I take makes me very vulnerable to both, so I was informed about lysine from my doctor.
It's basically an essential amino acid that a human cannot produce. If you do not get enough of it through food/supplements, you'll lack niacin. Then you'll suck and have issues.
Related to this topic, Arginine, another essential amino acid, I believe promotes canker sores or herpes when it out-ratios Lysine. Or such? Arginine is very common in coffee, and other products with a lot of caffeine. If you take in more Arginine than you do lysine, you are more prone to canker sores and herpes-related stuff. Not that a canker sore is herpes, cause it's not).
It's best, if you drinks lot of coffee, to take lysine supplements. Or eats lots of Lysine-rich vegetables. I do both, honestly. Lysine as a supplement is SO cheap, and you can find it anywhere. :)
