Now that the WRX no longer looks like a rough tumble rally car why buy one? Making it sleek and shit ruined the car's appeal.

Congrats, Stormy. Now go to www.rx8club.com and do a lot of reading.
I'd invite you to Deals Gap Rotary Rally, but I have a feeling you don't live close to here.
On another note, I spent all weekend installing a new suspension on my Miata. It had better tear up those mountain roads, because I'm sore as hell.
Miata's tear up mountain roads even with stock suspension. I am sort of jealous of Stormy and the RX that was a dream car of mine for a while. Till I got my '66 Mustang and got too much muscle car in my blood.
I've been a member over there for a couple years now. I've been drooling over RX8's for a while so I am familiar with most of the issues and quirks of the rotary. Right now I'm trying to nail down my maintenance plan. Do you have any opinions on premixing and/or engine oil? I'm planning on premixing 4oz per tank of something, probably Royal Purple 2-stroke TCWIII or that FP60 stuff, but haven't decided which yet. I'd also like to run Royal Purple synthetic in the engine, but I don't want any hassles from the dealership if I ever need to make a warranty claim, so I will probably go with a good 5w30 dino oil. Any recommendations for that?
Thanks for the kind words everyone. There is nothing else out there for what I paid new that I think even comes close to the 8. I mean, $22k is Civic money, and barely even base GTI money. Those are nice cars, but give me a beautiful rwd machine like the 8 any day.
Anyone have an opinion on clear bras? I'm worried about the notoriously thin paint.
Just to add the sediment. Stormy ~ Congrats. You ride looks awesome. Yeah, like Mark said keep us updated on the ride. Are those stock rims? If so they look sleek. Your neighborhood looks familiar, like I saw it on an episode of Without a Trace, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, etc.
I mean the stick on clear film kind 3M makes. Kind of like clear window tint applied to the front of the car. I don't think stuff can get in that. It's expensive, $300-$500 I think but I'm not sure.
It's just a neighborhood park not to far from me in Palo Alto, doubt they filmed anything all the way up here. They're stock 18" rims. I like them too and haven't really seen much I like better on an 8. The car is so busy already I think a lot of the customization that looks good on other cars, like fancy rims, makes it look over-done real quick. I'll probably stick to adding clear corners and tint and call it a day.Quote:
