You say it like that's a bad thing...

I've had my Scion tC for about 7 months now, just over 10k miles on it. And I am really happy with it. Sure I'm biased, but I think it's just about the best car you can get for under $19k. The Impreza does challenge that statement pretty handily though...
It's got a nice engine with enough power (4 cylinder Camry engine that puts out 161hp) which doesn't make it a speed demon by any means but the important thing in this price category is it has enough engine to push the car around and accelerate whenever needed. I never find myself in situations where I wish I had more power.
When I first test drove it they only had an automatic and I found the car sluggish and boring. Later on in my car shopping experience they got in a manual and the salesman said I just had to try it in a manual. So I did, maybe it's just psychological but it seemed much more peppy and definitely more fun to drive.
I get about 32mpg on it consistently. And it's just a nice, fun to drive car. I have no complaints against it. When I first got it I found the clutch pretty weird, but it's second nature now. I got the iPod stereo for it and that's just awesome. I will never own a car without that feature from here on out.
Anyway, just very happy with this lil Toyota. I have noticed tCs have become pretty common now. I used to be just about the only one in town with one. Yesterday at the mall I parked next to two of them.
Lies! Who wouldn't always wish for more power? My car's got more than enough, but if I'm dreaming it'd still be cool to have more :)Hey, here's a good poll for TNLers. Who's got a stick and who's got an auto? I agree with Torgo here--manual's way more fun to drive, way more engaging, and it can make a low-powered vehicle feel much quicker than it actually is (I had a blast driving my 165HP Impreza with the manual). I bet you could have fun zipping around in a Honda Fit as long as it came with a manual transmission.Quote:

My first car, an '87 Volvo 240, had an automatic. When I got around to buying my dream Impreza, I was ready to buy either an auto or a manual, whatever I could find first. Wanted an auto 'cause I didn't know how to drive manual, but then I wanted a manual 'cause I knew I'd like once I got used to it. I ended up with a manual Impreza. I'll never buy a car with an auto again. Accordingly, my GTO has a stick. My Impreza was the car I learned to drive stick in, so for me the clutch was 100% normal. But everyone that drove it told me it was a little weird. Very short travel and it caught pretty quickly, almost digital. I thought nothing of it and had no complaints. Most people didn't think it was bad either, just different. I think my GTO's clutch is more "normal," though, 'cause I definitely noticed a difference after driving the Impreza for a year and a half.Quote:

I had an iPod connector in the Impreza. Just put the iPod in my glove box and I could control it from the car's stereo headunit. Kept it charged, too. Sadly, the stock unit in the GTO doesn't have any aftermarket support. If I want to get something similar, I'm going to have to get a new headunit. Thinking about this unit.Quote:

I actually owned an xB as well, also a manual. And even with a manual that thing just had no go. There were times on the freeway when I thought I'd be better off getting out and pushing. It was a major factor in my getting rid of the car, as much as I loved how it looked and how spacious it was.
That's how mine is. Put the ipod in the center console and then control it from the stereo. I can even control it from my steering wheel. I love it.Quote:

they even handle well, I am told.
My daily driver is an Auto, but my project car is stick. They both have their place in the world, but agree if your running a 4-banger + slushbox = boring. But I wouldn't want to have to screw with a clutch in daily traffic.
Oh, and for one of those "if I ever had the money moments"

Yes, thats a Charger SRT-8 with a 6 speed. Now excuse me while I go tend to um...somthing.
I could have sworn you were older than me. 95 used to have tolls in Orange and Stamford, at the least. :)
I know I don't normally post in this thread, but I didn't want to create a new thread for this. Walked out to my car this morning to the attached pictures. Funny enough, the only thing taken was an iPod FM transmitter that I received for free, so that's no sweat off my back.
Anyone have any auto glass repair places they recommend? I'm in the LBC, but I know that there are places that have on-site service. I'm going to call the dealership tomorrow to see if they do the work themselves or recommend any local places and I've checked around on Google, but if anyone has any personal experience and would like to give me some hints that would be great. AllState has already set up some company to come out tomorrow and give me an estimate of the cost, which they seem to believe is less than my $500 deductible.
That sucks. Some dick breaks my glass, takes the FM transmitter I got for free, and I'm stuck with the repair bill.
An FM transmitter? Someone broke into your car for an FM transmitter? That's so dumb.
