Life is too short to drive anything other than a race-line.
This is also the result of too much Gran Turismo and GTR2.

Heh, my first car was an '88 Celeb. If there ever was a vehicle that epitimises everthing that was wrong with GM in the 80s, I think that was it. Every single bit of plastic inside that car was loose, broken or missing. It had acceleration that could be measured in hours, wandered all over the damn highway, had to essentualy remove the entire dashboard to get to the radio, the A/C when it decided to work would stall the car at idle, and had the worst headlights known to mankind.
Ill give it this, that car did pull over 300K before we got rid of it nearly 10 years ago, and I STILL see it driving around now and then. Iron Duke 4cyl FTW.
but, as amazing as it may be, someone found a way for those cars to be fun, here is a pontiac 6000 (pontiac version of the celeb) with some "creative modifications"
that video was hilarious, the dog chasing it was great. But how'd they get gas into the engine?
whenever I have seen this done, they usually just route the fuel lines over to the washer fluid tank and use that as a gas tank.
Not exactly on topic but next week I will be driving from Florida to Arizona. I'll have other people with me but we will all be driving different cars so my question is, what the hell do I need to keep me entertained? I've got Sirius in my car but thats it. I can't imagine there being many things to keep me from looking at the time every 5 minutes.
In my experience, the comedy channel of XM makes long rides fly by. Might even consider getting some comedy CDs from comedians you know you like. Granted, the long rides I did with my XM were about two hours long, not days like your upcoming trip.
Listening to music albums at a time (as opposed to songs at a time) can help. Might even consider an audio book or something--anything that's not over in three minutes, but will keep you distracted for long chunks of time. Conversation, as well, is key. Start a politics war or something :)
I do the 6 hour each way hike to LA once or twice a month. MarkRyan is spot on with the comedy. Howard Stern is great for the long ride, and Raw Dog is nice too. Any interesting talk radio is much better than music for long trips since it will keep your mind more occupied. If the comedy channels aren't any good Sirius has a billion sports channels to find something on too.
Also, get a radar detector.
i drove from Erie, PA to San Antonio, TX in 2 days time. 16 hours on one day. broken ass Intrepid with a storage shell on top that made the wind whistle through the window crack. stereo was broken too.
needless to say i drank....a LOT when we got there.
anything can be more entertaining than that.
Get a blowjob every hour on the hour. That should help.
Hire someone if you have to.
