Not true. Ok well halfway not true. Morons do drive them with the intention of trying them out, but where I work they can be charged for the repair if its determined that it was beyond normal wear and tear on the engine. Second half of your comment is totally wrong also, as rental car agencies are trying to keep the car in as good a condition as possible in order to get as much for those cars as possible when they sell them at auction. Cars where I work barely last into the 50,000 KM range before being sold off at auction, and thats only if its a really popular model which is difficult to find.
