This may seem like a "no name" signing with absolutely no significance, but I just wanted to tell all the Phillies fans that you got a hell of a ball player here. Its actually kind of sad that the Dodgers let him go without even trying to resign him. Werth missed most of 2005 and all of 2006 with a wrist injury, but he played a very big part in leading the Dodgers to the NL West Title in 2004. He has some pretty good power when he is healthy too, and if he plays every day he actually has 25+ homerun potential. If you check out his stats from 2004 you will see that you may have gotten a very good bargain :)

Nothing new, and apparently the Giants have a competitive offer on the table, though this could be Boras posturing. The Rangers are barely mentioned anymore.
If the Mets sign Zito, they need to freeze Pedro and El Duque until October then thaw them for their own safety.
