Actually there are rumors that they'd trade Kuo, Kemp and Hendrickson for Burrell and Geary.
Which would be very fucking stupid of the Dodgers.

It doesn't matter, he's still on the team for at least another 3 years or so. We'll see how this all plays out, he deserves a raise and the Phils should give him one, however it's not really realistic to give him market value if that's what he wants because no team would unless he was a free agent.
I'd take Matt Kemp for Burell anyday of the week.
He spent over 3 years in the minors after college - too long for a guy hitting the ball that hard. And he'd have been starting midseason in 2004 if not for Thome.
So, he ended up getting held back a year, it happens. Personally I agree he should've been up sooner but the team doesn't always work on what the individual wants, the Phils wanted somebody that could bring people out to the ball-park and Thome did that. Howard was talented but there was no guarentee's he was going to end up as good as he is now. Before Howard there was this player in the Phillies system, he was said to have enourmous power and would definately have the potential to hit 50+ HR's a year with a decent batting average. He had a good eye and his hitting skills were unparrelled by other minor leaguers. This man was named Pat Burrell.
I agree, that move would be pretty fucking stupid. First off, Kemp is being hyped to be the next Alfonso Soriano...basically a player with tons of speed and power. I was amazed when he came up last year and hit 7 homeruns in just a few games. Kuo pitched great during the second half of last year, and the Dodgers need to hold on to him as a number 5 starter or bullpen help. Kuo may be the only pitcher the Dodgers have who can actually beat the Mets :) Hendrickson.......Hendrickson is just complete and utter GARBAGE and the Dodgers should just give him away for free. I can pitch better than this shit:

Omar might take a flier on him.
Not really arguing with you...just saying that since the Phils haven't done Howard any favors, there's no reason to think Howard will do them any come payday. Same with Utley. Contrast this with how the Mets treated Reyes and Wright like the children of destiny, and their willingness to forgo future windfalls in the free agent market, at least to an extent.
