Lidle and the instructor died. No one else was killed, and there were no major injuries.
What was the instructor's name anyway? ): No one mentions that guy.
uhh why, exactly? If it was just some regular joe would you be saying that? He just bought the plane (apparently it was mechanical failure, they said it was having gas problems or something), he had pilot training, his instructor was on board, he was breaking no laws, etc. Why are you begruding the guy because he decided to exercise his right to fly an airplane?
Why any reasonable human being would want to suddenly fly an airplane is beyond my comprehension. Things like what happened today are the reason some things should just be left to the professionals. (I'm not getting into an argument about his rights...)
It's not like he's begrudging his right to fly...why do these celebs get these insatiable urges to do crazy things? And, it seems that stupid accidents seem to follow the Yankees wherever they turn. Aaron Boone getting injured playing basketball, Carl Pavano's car crash, and now this.
Addendum: and even professionals get it wrong sometimes...
EDIT: Corey Lidle gets the "Surprise Death of the Month" award. Previous winners include Steve Irwin and Kenneth Lay.
That's something that was much discussed when roflburger got into his bike accident... these guys are adrenaline junkies... i dunno. They think they're invincible or something. And if you got millions of dollars and a huge offseason you might as well take up a big expensive hobby, right?
There's plenty of ways to indulge your want for adrenaline without doing things like flying planes or riding without a helmet.
This is retarded. Like I said, everything Lidle did APPEARED to be within the law and the presence of his instructor showed he was, at the very least, concerned about safety. So why are you saying he shouldn't do it? If he wanted to fly a plane and he followed the law then he has the right to fly a fucking plane. That's called, you know, "freedom". If you don't like it, move to North Korea, commie.
