PS3 pre-orders

So people buying on eBay won't be playing them?

I'll be camping out the night before at Target. We had fun last year overnight with the 360 launch. But mine is going straight to eBay, no way I'm going to miss out on all that extra eBay cash. Hopefully the profits will pay for a Wii and a game or two.

Yeah, but they have to pay retarded prices. This argument is old, but I still think that resellers are dicks and people who buy the shit and make a market for it are idiots. There are no launch games I am excited about, I will wait until after Christmas and get one. Metal Gear Solid 4 will be out by then as well.

Even when I did this back with the original Xbox, I listed them at cost (system + tax + ebay fees). It's the people buying who are crazy.

Exactly.

I can understand if you buy a PS3 and a few weeks later decide you don't want it than selling it on Ebay. What gets me are the people who preordered the system with the sole intent on hocking it on Ebay. There were 6 of these guys at the GS where I preordered my system. Calling around on the Cell phones to other friends to make sure they could secure as many PS3 as possible for Ebay.

If I ran the company these people would not get their PS3s. I would be pissed if I was last on the list and one of these chuckle heads got a PS3 before me. Opportunistic greedy SOBs if you ask me.

Get a real job and let the gamers have their systems at retail price.

As a videogame fan I find it annoying but there's nothing wrong with it. It's called capitalism. If there is high demand for a unit and low supply prices will go up. Sony's the one losing out here, because they aren't charging people a market price on launch units.

I wasn't rich when the PS2, Xbox or GC came out. I had the opportunity to profit from it but I think it is wrong to take advantage of parents who just want to buy their kids what they want for Xmas.

When I bought my extra X360 last year I later sold it on Ebay with a buy now of the retail cost + ebay fees.
