Right out of box isn't 3 days later. It's the first time you hook it up. And I never heard of anyone getting 3 red lights booting their system up for the first time.

Have to agree with PBMax on that one.
I wonder how many sony employees get a PS3 and hock it up on EBay. Hell, I wonder how many PS3s Sony Hocks up on Ebay.
I think if you buy it and hold on to it for a few weeks and ebay it in the week before Xmas, you might get more than $1500 for it. Rich parents are stupid when it comes to spending $$ for their kids.
At least that would be my only motivation to get a PS3, but I don't need the frustration of standing in line/pre-ordering all that nonsense.
Nobody is being cheated. Just buy one for $1000+ on Ebay. Or do what everyone else will be doing and buy a 360 and/or Wii to tide you over.
Just because they test every one of them doesn't mean that after transport they won't be defective. Even then, such a test would be very quick...how else are you going to test such a large number of units, even with sophisticated setups?
Actually, I've already got a 360 and am planning on a Wii because I like the game selection better. These aren't consoles gotten to make the wait for Sony to save the day easier, they're worth owning in their own right.
Said it before- I'll probably have a PS3 in two years, but right now it's just a waste of money. The system doesn't do anything that makes me care about owning one even at sane prices, and $600 is right out.

It's a fucking game system, nobody has to buy one. If stupid sony fanboy mouth breathers want to waste 1000+ dollars to be the "cool kid" for a week or two that's their problem not the sellers.Quote:
