Wreckless is fucking fantastic! People just don't seem to relise it or something. The game is a blast to play. Its on the short side, but is a game you will play over and over. The graphics alone are a reason to buy it. The PS2 is getting a version with 20 more missions, but the graphics had to be toned down royaly. I have seen a few pictures, not NEARLY as pretty. So I mention getting both, I know I will.
You know, if MS just mailed out free Xboxs to everybody on their 16th birthday the way Gillette mails out free razors to everybody, they would be doing just fine. :) Noone can play this system and not love it.
Well, I'm glad you all are having so much fun with it. But *I* bought an Xbox, and wasn't instantly converted. The new price was what got me try it, but I guess I wasn't in an Xbox mood or something, since it just didn't do it for me. Halo was amazing, I agree...but nothing else on the system really excited me, and the upcoming releases on GC seemed much more tantalizing than the Xbox lineup. Plus, there was still cool games for PS2 I knew I wanted coming out, plus GBA, plus Warcraft III ($75 right there, damn)...
I guess I had too much rationalizing going on to just drop $350 or so on Xbox stuff...and damn, why are the controllers so expensive...for my money, they're the worst of the designs too...not unusable, but certainly not worth $40. And probably the thing that gave me buyer's remorse like no other was the clunkiest, ugliest console design ever. I tried to give it some support when I first saw screenshots, but damn, seeing that thing in real life is quite a different experience.
So anyway, I took mine back. Maybe I'll pick one up again later, when more compelling software is out. But buying games for so many systems really starts to add up...I'm not sure how you all do it :)

Yep, I bought the 'Box 2 weeks ago (hence my abscence from the boards) and I'm havin' a ball. I have JSRF, Gun Valkyrie, Genma Onimusha, DOA3, and I just picked up Morrowind. The only game that I've really played thoroughly so far is JSRF, which I've put almost 30 hours into.
I'd recommend picking up the current issue of OXBM, it has a good number of demos on it, and some nice previews... Buffy actually looks pretty cool, there's a part in the preview movie where she pushes a vampire onto some train tracks, and a train plows into him... AWESOME.
You beat me to it, I should be getting one at the end of this month though, retired a console to make some space for it already ;)
