Yeah, I was missing Boss 11 - I think it's "The Infinity" - I've included it here. And I finally found the Ise-One (boss 8)! Both the last level I reached and its first appearance are here - I died rather a lot of times, unfortunately, but you can see what it looks like. It's probably the most unique boss because it's guaranteed to be symmetrical and it grows so slowly - it might be the easiest to get to a high level out of the various final options (infinity, catastrophe, armageddon, ise-one).
I've found a way to get "the armor" every time - I'll post it some other day.
Now my next challenge will have to be working out how colour's getting to stage 44 :(. I've been spending so much time researching the boss forms that my skills have gone to pot, as you can probably see from the replays . . . I'm also a bit curious about what the keywords mean (have you ever gotten "Gonzales"?)
-
You mean stage 27 (44 million points). I've actually got the complete run of replays for this and would be willing to share them, but it would be more interesting if you tried developing a unique strategy first.
That Ise-One boss is very very cool. I'm thinking that with my current approach I can handle circle-bottomed bosses the best. I'll have to figure out how to get the Ise-One and compare it with the Catastrophe.
I *think* I've had Gonzales before... I'm pretty sure the keywords just reflect the boss' stats and weapons. Playing a bit today, I think that destroying a boss while anything is still attached to the core will increase the defense stat.
-
Yeah, don't post the replays - I'll work on it for a while and see if I can beat 14 mil. Right now leaving a single arm when I destroy the core, but like you said, the defense begins to go up, so I run out of time - but my score's usually lower than when I destroy all the arms (though I get further), so I haven't been able to beat 14 mil yet. Not dying would probably help too :)
Here're how I grew the ise-one. It does grow really slowly so it might be the best form for maximizing score.
The game determines which final form to go to (arms, attacker, armor) based on which direction you attack it from most (side, top/bottom which I'll call "front", and diagonal) during the pureheart phase. It's weighted - the parts you destroy during the earlier stages count more than the ones you destroy later. The top and bottom are quasi-independent (explaining this is rather difficult - basically, if you always attack one half, say, the bottom, and ignore the top completely, the boss will delay deciding what to do with the top until you start attacking it. But if you touch the top a little bit, even if it's not normally "enough" to decide, when the bottom moves out of pureheart it'll take the top with it).
side -> arms
front->attacker
diagonal -> armor
Diagonal is misleading because you can't get the armor by sitting in the corner and firing at the boss (this is why I had so much trouble getting it). Because the boss starts closer to the top of the screen, you'll end up with the attacker.
Using the bottom left corner of the pureheart:
-----------core
---------1a
-----------2
a is a boss piece, the numbers are vulcans. Destroy gun 1, and then a. Don't destroy gun 2. The next form will be:
------------core
------1--a--b
--------2---3
Guns 1/2 belong to part a; gun 3 belongs to b. Destroy gun 3, and then b. Next:
------------core
------1--a--b
--------2--3c
------------4
Guns 1/2 belong to a; guns 3/4 to c. Destroy gun 3, and then b/c. Don't destroy any of the other guns, especially 4. You should end up with something like this:
------------core
------1--a--b
--------2--dc
------------3
d is a square-shaped part growing off c, almost exactly on the diagonal (unlike any of the other parts you've destroyed so far). For the rest of the pureheart, destroy the arm by hitting d - c or b repeatedly. The boss might not grow anything from d for several turns, but keep hitting it - the game still records the location. You should, pretty regularly, end up with the armor.
If you didn't destroy anything on the top while doing this, the boss will still be in "pureheart" mode for the top when it changes to the armor, so just repeat this on the top and you'll end up with an ise-one.

This games been around a long time now, what version are you scoriing on?
-
I am quite new to this forum (first, post in fact!), so please forgive me if I am not following any fixed rule! Anyway, I always liked boss fights such as the ones in Warning Forever, so here is my score, please tell me if photographic proof or anything is needed.
8,237,600 | Stage 13
EDIT: 13,861,200 | Stage 14

Hi people!
I'm pretty new myself, but I get the impression proof is only needed in extreme cases.
And the version we should all be using is 1.04 (the latest), there is a link to it in the first post.

New to the forum... just registered to tell you my score:
49,995,600 on stage 33.

What final form do you go for?
-
umm, actually i don't know...
dunno how i determine the form.. i saw you talking about the ise one or so, but i can't read japanese, or is there any way of seeing the boss' name in english?
