I've been looking for one for a while, too. Ya'know, fly the flag and see what people you meet.
If you guys find any, let me know. I would die for one too.
I'd probably pay WAAAAAAY too much for it and frame it for fear of it getting ruined, but I'd enjoy it all the same... :)
*daydreams about the greatest shirt ever*
*sigh*
I, on the other hand, have no idea what you guys are talking about. Anyone have any pics of this?
It's more homage to the "last true gaming enthusiast magazine", aka GameFan. They use to provide T-shirts which could be ordered through its print publication (GameCave if I remember correctly), and this is a thread asking who's got one (or dying to...)Quote:

I kind of figured, but never really saw the offered t-shirts in the mag. Ah well, maybe when I dig out some GF issues I'll find these offerings.
I would love to have one of those T-Shirts!
Gamefan had a Die Hard store, here in Dallas. It was the best import store in this city. I was really bummed, when they closed that store. It was cool to go into that store, and see Playstation and Saturn Import games being played on a big screen T.V. I remember going into the store one day, and seeing some guys playing Resident Evil, on an import Playstation. They had so many import games, that never seen the light of day here, in the US. I never did see a Die Hard Gamefan shirt there, though.
Those shirts probably never existed:rolleyes:
Remember when there was a subscription offer for an embroidered hat.
Well I subscribed -after letting my previous subscription run out after not getting some of the issues- my hat never came.
Numerous phone calls assured me one would be on it's way, first I was told they ran out and more were being produced, other operators said they were waiting for more subscriptions so the hats could be mailed all at once, other operators told me to be patient "the hat is on it's way", finally after talking to the same guy on a few calls he confessed that the hats were never even produced. I think he offered to extend my subscription - not like I ever recieved the issues I paid for in the first place.
What's up with game magazines and their faulty distrobution to subscribers anyway? (grrmble, grumble, fuckin' GameGo: "Subscribers will recieve issues weeks before newsstands" ECM+Hoah: "Weeks before?, no, we meant weeks after.")
Well, hey...ECM is kind of a screw up.
Do you know of any stores in the Dallas area that sell imports, gamevet?
WOAH! Freaking AWESOME new Hisen-Ko avatar, Bahn! I'm liking it.Quote:

They used to have a Die Hard Gemer's Club store in Manhasset, Long Island, NY. I lived about 25 minutes away, and I'd take a drive there often. It was so cool, there was a giant Monitaur bursting through the wall near the back of the store. They had TONS of imports for all sorts of systems, import Japanese gaming mags, back issues of Gamefan, toys, you name it. I bought my Hori Fighting Commander PSX pad there, not to mention some cool-as-ass Darkstalkers keychains. Damn, I miss that place...I miss Gamefan...the end of an era, it was, when that magazine bowed out. :(Quote:

The T-shirts are probably never gonna be on any of our backs.
:(
HOWEVER, since GF no longer exists, it may be posible for someone to have some DHGF t-shirts made up privately. Last time I checked, Express.com owns GF, but it shouldn't be a problem if GF is a nonenity.
All you need is:
a) A copy of the image that is on the original T-shirt
b) Access to a decent t-shirt print service- they aren't uncommon businesses, check your yellow pages.
c) Money. I doubt it will cost too much.
Why not just print it on some of that iron on transfer paper? I've done that with a few pictures I drew. I scanned them at 300 res. and it looked really good once transfered to the shirt. But it looks like shit once you wash it a few times. :(Quote:

Hey dolemite, ddin't know you were a fellow NYer! :) I, too, used to frequent the Manhasset store and miss it SO much...I remember first trying to bring my brand new Japanese PSX to get modded (when I went to pick it up, they said forget about the mod LOL). I bought my Japanese N64 the day it came out there..I also remember that Monitaur in the back! I also bought my Mega Man:the Wily Wars (Euro version not Jap) and a Snatcher soundtrack there...I also got those DarkStalkers keychains too! They were really cool in there and there was this one Chinese guy I was really good friends with in there...And, by the way, I actually got one of those shirts! I think my sis has it..I'll see if she still has it....Man, I really miss that store now *sobs in the corner*
Dude! Where in NY are you? Are you on LI too? Yeah, I so miss that store...I remember when I realized something was wrong...I called there one day to see if they still had all those back issues of Gamefan, and the number was disconnected! I was like, WTF? So one Saturday I got up early and drove there, and...it was GONE! Nooo! *sob* Yeah, I had picked up a few soundtracks there as well. They had several different t-shirts there...if I hadn't been stupid and believed that Gamefan (and thus, the store) would be around forever, I would have stocked up on 'em. I also remember that they had these foot-tall Darkstalkers figures...damn, I wish I had gotten them too... :(Quote:

... Die Hard Trilogy was a cool game...
I loved the driving section of Die Hard Trilogy...I would crack up laughing every time I'd drive onto the sidewalk and squish all the people and the blood would get all over the windshield and the wipers would wipe it off...evil fun.
I actually live in Queens...It's weird how you found out they were gone cause that's the same exact way I found out too..even the same day (a Saturday) that I found out it was gone! LOL I really was sad when we drove up on Northern toward it and I didnt see the front of it anymore and I was like "No, it can't be gone!" but, alas, it was..*hangs head in sadness* Damn, now I'm remembering all these things about the store..I remember the 12" Darkstalkers figures too (they were on the right side of the counter on the wall) I do remember, however, that I never saw those "play it first here" cubicle things ever working in the front..The other thing was that it always eemed just a bit dk in there all the time...God, I loved that store..There is no store anywhere here that can match..A few years ago, Game Express on 34th was really cool, but they changed (like EGM! LOL) and now suck..and they always had assholes working in there too, whereas in Die Hard they were always cool (except for one guy who always seemed like my questions were too much to ask of him to answer). There was always so much I wanted to buy in there, and as soons as they were gone, a flash of everything I wanted in there went through my head and made me sad (Im still happy I got my Mega Man there since now its worth a good price LOL)
Yeah, I'm remembering all sorets of little things about the store too...there was really no parking out front, so you had to park in the lot in back, and go up the stairs to the rear enterance. You're right about the location of the 12" Darkstalkers figures...and yeah, the "Try it now" area was never working...remember the ads for the Die Hard stores in the back of Gamefan, where they showed the "Try it now" section, and it was this huge dark room, and at the one on Manhasset it was, like, 6 TVs in a wall that were never on? And yeah, the store was a little on the dark side, but I thought that was part of it's charm. I miss it... :(
Queens, huh? Personally, I consider Queens basically a part of Long Island. Did you know that Supermario was from LI too? We should get some kind of TNL NY gaming posse going... ;)
