"I don't see what's wrong with a PC exclusive as opposed to any other kind of exclusive"
I don't want to pay a lot of money for a machine that plays games the same as a cheaper machine I already own can. But we've been down that road before.

I've discovered that dropping a point in a few of the other trees not only makes the game a tad more forgiving, but a lot more fun too.
The kick mechanic is fantastic. It's so versatile, much moreso than any other FPS melee attack I've seen before. Aside from the obvious 'kicking niggaz into spikes/fires/down holes', it really spices up the melee combat. I've mapped it to mouse 3, and as an assassin I find I use it a lot for defensive maneuvers mid-combat. Block > Kick > Power Strike etc. It makes for some really scrappy, visceral encounters.
Also, the POV stuff going on in this game is too awesome. I haven't felt like I was getting wailed on like this in a game for a long time, if ever.
I like kicking fools off of ledges, then jumping down after them and putting the knives to'em before I even hit the ground.
Also, Detour+1 for spelling "wailed" correctly.
And I'd rather not pay more money for a system that plays slightly inferior versions of the same games I can play on my PC. Goes both ways. Hence my comment about exclusives not being good but one is no worse than the other.
The item/spell/skill interface would take some reworking to make this game make sense on 360, but I think it can be done. It doesn't require pixel perfect precision to fight well. The menu interface is totally point and click driven with tabs and all, and being able to switch equipment quickly without the keyboard shortcuts isn't going to work as well, but I'm sure you could find a way around it.
I hope it does come to 360. Maybe then more than 3 people on TNL with play it. But I'm glad to be playing it on PC. The interface is beautiful.
i'll pick this up at some point.. right now i'm overwhelmed with other games.
I tried the demo. As expected it doesn't run playable enough for me to buy at the moment but I can tell I'm going to love it. I have always wanted more interactive ways to kill enemies in games and this is a big step in that direction. And as has been mentioned, it resembles Looking Glass/Ion Storm Austin stuff. I can't tell if it will be as deep as their games yet but it has their vibe which is cool.
Since I discovered it's Steam my computer has issues with lately, and not the Source engine, I am able to run this fine after all.
I'm a few hours in. It's excellent so far. As expected, fighting is really cool as it makes you think quickly involving using your surroundings(something more games should be doing).
Everyone who can run this on their PC should buy it.
Hrm, so I guess you ended up snagging the boxed version or something? That's good that you figured it out.
I still like this game as much as I did when it came out.
