I know what you meant, but it's a bad term that's frequently misapplied. I didn't mean to imply that you made it up or anything. It's just not as accurate as saying "Character-relative controls" (as opposed to screen-relative)
And I rarely ever hear the term applied to first person games like 2600 Battlezone, or Doom 1 and 2. I think it stems from Combat, actually, which was top-down, but you still moved side to side to rotate and up to move forward.
