Note: I apologize for my heavy breathing. I had my mic turned on fairly loud to clearly record my voice, but it was just too loud and it picked up every noise in the world. It won't happen next time.

I don't have much of an intro, so just download and enjoy. Let us know what you think.

I didn't know my voice sounded like that or that I had that lisp until I listened to this podcast. I've actually never in my life heard a recording of my voice.

I'm just as disappointed as the rest of you.

I also agree with icarusfall that the majority of this was unfunny, but I think we had enough good lines in there to justify uploading this. It'll only get better from here as my testicles descend and we get more comfortable with the format.

Also, podcast trivia: what is the significance of the Orbital song playing at the end? It's the song that plays at the end of the Mortal Kombat movie.

I could certainly see you guys getting better at it, as you sounded a little more like 2 friends fucking around than something meant for mass consumption. It took me a while to get confortable on the mic even after I got my broadcasting degree. But I went on to make a considerable sum of money with my voice. The two of you are usually pretty funny on the boards, so given some time and maybe a shorter length it could be great.


Edit* The sibilant 's' is something a lot of people aren't aware of until they hear themselves on a mic. It just takes practice and proper mixing to get rid of it. I don't know what kind of mics you have available, but if you're going to continue this on a regular basis I'd recommend the Shure SM58 mic. They're often on sale 2-for-1 at Guitar Center/Sam Ash when they do their seasonal sales and cost around $60. It's the best mic available for the money. I'd wager most of the live vocals anyone has heard at concerts is through an SM58.

And I've never thought Stibbons had a faggy voice, he just sounds like a normal American to me (then again I think Mzo's voice is dreamy). I'd have to say Stibbon's "chuckle" is fucking faggy though.

As for guests, we've already gotten agreements from Nick and Mzo. Mzo's voice, while nowhere near as gay as mine, is totally appropriate and probably one of the greatest gifts TNL will ever know.

We're also looking at people like sleeve and Chux. From already knowing Chux from Xbox Live and the WOW guild, I can guarantee that if he ever comes on, you will be entertained and won't have to force yourself through this. Anyone that's talked with him will confirm.

There are plenty of other people we'd like to get on the show, but those are the top 4 right now.

Despair would be great, but only if he got really, really mad. Which is pretty wasy to do, hint hint.

That was actually a really good effort. For what it's worth, your first episode is already way better than all of the GAFcasts put together.

The only thing that bothered me was the heavy breathing. And I don't know if it was intentional or not, but having separate audio channels for each voice is kind of annoying if you listen with headphones.

I was going to comment that it might be a good idea to get another contrasting voice on the podcast, but it looks like you've already got plans to get some other voices on future episodes. I think that'd probably ease some of the "pitiful, couldn't sit through it" criticism, because I could see people thinking the show is a bit one-sided, with nobody to really disagree with and no contrasting take to the cynicism.

Other than that, your guys' humor is like a well oiled machine, so all I'd suggest other than the little technical issues, is that if you actually plan to do this with any sort of regularity, it might be a good idea to put up an iTunes feed. Nice job.

I made that edit after reading over it and thinking about just how it could be pulled off smoothly - so I went with the simpler idea for the final edit. I'm fairly spontaneous when talking, and can be pretty funny when I want to be. More thoughts on the podcast - it's the most masturbatory thing I've ever heard, but AFX is hilarious, and Stibbons is good as the wacky-voiced sidekick.
