I was just curious if anyone in here has had any issues with their Intercoolers.
I have one on my system and have had no problems with it, but a friend of mine had an issue in which it actually burned his 360 unit and also got the "ring of death" after using it. I've read different accounts on the internet with similar issues. I wonder if this is a wide-spread thing or is it simply a couple people with bad luck...
It's a shoddy product, and with the way it works it actually does do more damage than it helps. It's snake oil, my friend.
Could you explain, or point to a page that explains, how it damages the system? I'm guessing by blowing dust into the fragile inner workings, but don't know for sure.
I knew I had a reason to avoid the Intercooler. Always nice to see my groundless paranoia become reasonable doubt. :)

I had never had a problem with the Intercooler and had stated that in this thread. I then had the red circle of death three times in two days during normal gameplay. I checked the Intercooler, and it had the scorch marks discussed in this thread. The system was clean, thankfully. The Intercooler literally went right in the trash, and the 360 has run flawlessly since I removed the fucking thing. Do not buy an Intercooler, and take the fucking thing off if you already did.
Mine found its way to the garbage too. The 360's too good of a machine to chance it! Put it on a Wii instead :) j/k.
When you baught yours, did it come in the plastic package, ot was it in a box? There are two models, and I remember hearing somewhere that the one in the box, the later model, was much improved.Quote:

I wouldn't either. I got an intercooler and heard about its problems the day after. I got the newer model that came in the box, so I am hoping that they fixed the problem, or at least made it better. I am hooping that if the intercooler does fry my system that I can just swap it out at work seeing as that is where I baught it, but hopefully it wont come ack to bite me in the ass.Quote:

I had problems with NHL 2K7 freezing so I bought it thinking that my 360 was overheating. Turns out that the game is a glitchy mess and my 360 is fine. I never had a problem with anything else.

An extended warranty is the best way to deal with overheating 360's.
I got mine back around October or so and it has been running fine. A few weeks ago, I took it off to check for the any burn marks and there were none to be found. Still working fine so far.Quote:
