And for the hundreds of thousands who lost loved ones to his tyranny there is closure. I'm tired of the greenpeace hippies arguing a forgone fact. He killed thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people and he deserves to never breath again, job completed.

Funny thing is, somebody told me that he said something about pleading with the terrorists that the American citizens are not their enemies before he died.
Now, I'd like to find a source about that before I full-on believe it, but I don't know what to think if true.

It's over, a feared butcher/dictator becomes yet another dark page in history, plus all the whiny peacekeepers and misguided fools (tnl's included) who believe there should be some sense of compassion for spearing evil lose yet another round.

Closure would have been achieved if those who empowered Saddam would have been on trial together with him.
You know, people like Reagan, Chirac, Thatcher, Cheney, Rumsfeld both presidents Bush etcetera and decision makers at companies like Dassault, GE, Martin Marrieta, Halliburton etcetera.
Closure would have been achieved if they would have had the other trials as well befor ehanging him for this first one so that the surviving victors of his other crimes would have had their day in court and their chance to stand up against their oppressor.

As it stands, some of those crimes have too many skeletons in the closet so they killed him for one crime that could not be linked to the outside world.
This IS a revenge killing and has absolutely nothing to do with justice.

Those people didnt get the justice they wanted and deserved.
They wanted their day in court with that asshole and they have now been robbed of that right.

No one was concerned about that, and they'd have been even less so if the US had taken Britain's offer and had him thrown into the bottom of some dank jail in the English countryside. The Iraqi people have far bigger problems than Saddam to worry about right now, such as their opposing sects coming into their homes dressed as police, carting them off and taking a powerdrill to their heads.

I'm not going to say that's worse than what occurred under Saddam's rule, but I fail to see how it's any better. I'm also not saying Saddam should have been re-installed, but I severely doubt the Iraqis were worried he was going to swashbuckle back into the driver's seat and end their newfound utopia.

I'm not telling the Kurds shit. Everyone likes to hold them up as role models, but they're anything but They've been sponsoring terrorist attacks that have killed innocent Turks for decades. Does that mean they should have been gassed? No, but the US is no position to tell someone they've got no right to massacre innocent civilians in the pursuit of 'ending terrorism' when we've cooked Iraqis in their clothes with WP.

The Iranians died in a war and killed just as many Iraqis in the process. It's funny you mention the gas attacks, since it was US bought gas that he did it with. Does that mean we get to hang those who were a party to it here?

Closure? Does that mean their loved ones come back? Are they all dancing together in harmony? No. All that's done is that they've gotten some small amount of revenge on the man who killed him. That is NOT justice.
