Neverwinter Nights 2

The programming code is an unfinished, rushed pile of horseshit, but there's an awesome game trying to find its way out of the stink. I know a bunch of you assholes are playing Square-Enix's sad rip-off of Bioware's design, but who got this?

That's me wearing my spectacular level two gear. I picked option three because I'm a badass.

i picked up the LE version.. still haven't installed it yet.

edit: nice review... hope to find the time to play this in the next year or two.

I hated NWK so I'll def. pass on this.

I hate PC gaming at this time of year. They end up reverting to the bad old days of half finished code that they'll fix in a patch two months later so they can make the holiday rush.

heh..I played a bit of both NWN2 and Gothic 3 recently. Those two games are perfect examples of rushed out games. I like 'em both though. NWN2 runs like shit considering that it doesn't look at that hot. Its the lighting and shadows..lower some of those options and it helps a lot. Gothic 3 runs well enough for me but you need 2 gigs of ram or its hard drive thrash city. I'll get the patched up US version when it comes out.

A heads-up for anyone that's considering a purchase: it looks like this is going to be on sale for $24.99 at Best Buy on Black Friday.

It's every PC game released from late October through December, really. Dark Messiah got blasted for being really buggy. It's honestly not <i>that</i> bad, but if you don't have enough RAM it'll crash out after a couple hours... there's no clipping on ropes and you can use them to get stuck in walls... If you use the disk version and not the steam version there's stuttering for like 15 seconds after every loading break... It just needed another maybe 3 weeks but companies won't budge this time of year.

I may pick this up this weekend.

If I do, both my girlfriend and I should be available for co-op.

I picked this up solely for campaign co-op with friends. It runs like ass, and the camera kinda blows because of it, but it's growing on us. The character models are ugly as shit and I have to agree it needs a good patch asap because characters that ugly should not make my PC run this bad.

Good review btw, sums it up pretty well. Decent to good game, needs a patch desperately to make it not run like shit.

If by Bioware's "design", you're referring to the battle style, it was present in the original Everquest which predates your precious gay-ass Star Wars game by half a decade, n00b.
