Next Gen War

I like the Wii so far. Slicing and dicing in Trauma Center is fun with the Wiimote, and is a game that wouldn't really translate well to the other two consoles. Little things like putting both of your hands forward to use the defibrillator are cool. I haven't opened Zelda yet, because I want a very extended play session my first time with it.

I really don't care about graphics so long as the games are fun. Gears is amazing to look at, but after the first couple of times playing, it was all about the gameplay for me. I'm sure the Wii could've been $150 more and provided better graphics, but then that limits how much the publishers can experiment with the wiimote and new game types.

Maybe I'll feel differently in 2009, but for right now I'm having fun.

look we get the point, you dont find the controller innovative, go you, seems like a lot of people here do, guess there is just a difference of opinion. i will say you are right about one thing, if a game came out for the 360 and looked exactly like a wii game, it would be considered unimpressive, thats because the 360 is more powerful, and had fucking well better look better. i dont think anyone on this forum is saying anything otherwise, but you seem to keep wanting to paint the argument like that. i will say that based on my experience with the xbox(which, was overwhelmingly postiive) there wont be a game like zelda or metroid on it, there will be a ton of military games that use a massive palatte of drab greys, browns and olives, there will be some halfhearted brighter games that will be ports, and there will be some really great rpg's which will all be dark, and supporting the same color scheme as the military games. now, thats good for what it is, but i know that if i want my zeldas and marios, i will never get anything of even remotely similar quality on the 360, because they dont make them, and thats why im getting a wii...eventually

I do too oddly. I seldom agreed with him in the past. Hell, Zelda is fine IMO but everything else looks like crap and doesn't play tremendously better because it's on Wii. I'd feel riped off really. PS3 isn't worth mentioning yet, just like PS2 was really a crappy system when it came out. Took time for it to be worth a damn.

Holy fuck. I know this is "Grammar Nazi!" but brang isn't a word. You learn that shit in like 2nd grade.

It has already been broughten.

Right now there is A good game that uses the wiimote and the nunchuck in a really great way, and that's Trauma Center: SO. There's added shit like moving your hands and pressing the triggers on both to use the defribillator, to picking up pieces of bone and rotating them with the wiimote (like turning a doorknob) to make them fit where they belong. It's really good so far.

Zelda was obviously shoehorned into this system, but it's definitely still perfectly playable and a damn good Zelda game. What they did was kind of dumb but it's fine by me.

I'm worried not enough companies will make Wii games the way they're supposed to be (like Trauma Center: SO).

Monkey Ball makes good use of it, too.

Then why is the shitty ported Zelda on the shitty barely-better-than-PS2 shaping up to be the highest rated game overall this year at Gamerankings? If it looks so bad, it must just be that good.

No one except that new dude who used "u" and "ur" has said that graphics don't matter. Everyone on this side of the argument has said that graphics aren't the only thing, and frankly, they're not the most important thing.
