While the SCE division keeps Sony afloat, the Xbox division continues to bleed for Microsoft, so that's definitely not a true statement for the first five-ish years.

And the PS3 would be a very cheap blu-ray player with future potential for games if it were $400, which was my original argument. A $300 Wii stands no chance against a $400 PS3. Price is what is moving Wiis, not Zelda.
I was talking to a guy at work today and he was all "Hey did you see all the news about that PS3? The graphics with that blu-ray technology are amazing!"
I loled a little inside.
No
Not yours.

But its not.Honestly, I think this is a dumb arguement cause all three platforms have large enough fanbases that they would have sold out regardless.
But larger storage capacity alone does not produce better graphics. If you somehow hooked up a 250GB hard drive to a 2600 it wouldn't suddenly produce ultra-realistic graphics.
Agreed, but the converse is also true. If you gave the PS3 or 360 8 MB cartridges, their visuals would suffer greatly.
This is the most interesting console race in a long time. This is really Part II of an epic trilogy
The Wii is not next-gen. Unorthodox control scheme alone does not make it next-gen; it's just new. Realize and accept it for what it is. Nintendo is running a slightly different race, and I expect it to open up under-tapped markets (females).
Why take a loss if you don't have to? $249 still is a very competitive price point and you can do that when you launch with a well-made Zelda game and some hype.
Nintendo has to establish a significant user base, and that will require consistent and notable third party support. This is no guarantee.
The PS3 will sell well once it's readily available. I won't want one until DMC4 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma come out, and even then, not at $600, but I will eventually get one, as will millions of other consumers. There should be no denying this.
I <3 X360. This is shaping up to be one hell of a system. MS is aggressive, proactive, and open-minded and I think they're going to make up some nice ground.
